"Did you see if any of our people got out?" Glenn asked the girl.

"All I saw was my sister in that field. She wasn't supposed to be there. She had a gun, but they just swarmed her. She wasn't supposed to be there. I did it for him. I trusted him. And then he just killed that old man."

"Hershel? Was his name Hershel?"

She turned towards the two of you and nodded. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Brian, that man, told us you were bad people. I know it's not true. I can see it's not, so what we did, what I did... I mean I'm a piece of shit. Why would you want my help?" She turned back around and started to walk away.

"We don't want it, we need it. I have to Maggie. And (Y/N), she has to find Daryl," Glenn said.

"Who are they?" She asked shaking her head.

"Maggie's my wife. Daryl is (Y/N)'s boyfriend," He said.

"Husband. We didn't tell anyone," You looked down biting your lip.

"You guys all got separated?"

"We were on the bus and then we got off to help and they didn't see us." You said.

"How do you know if they made it?"

"We don't know. But Hershel, Maggie's father, was a great man. And he told me all I had to do was believe, and that's what I'm gonna do. None of us should be alive right now. They got out, so you're gonna help us find them. Things aren't over. They're not over," Glenn said.

"I want to believe that. I want to." The girl called after him.

Walkers started growling ahead of you. You and Glenn grabbed your knives and walked towards them. "You have to," He said.

Glenn was still too weak to fight. You and Tara were able to kill all the walkers, as Glenn passed out on the ground.

"Hope you enjoyed the show, assholes!" She yelled at the truck that was next to you.

Two men and a woman came out and had their guns pointed at you.

"You got a damn mouth on you, you know that? What else you got?"

You picked up your rifle and pointed it at the taller male. Tara picked up Glenn's rifle and pointed it at the woman.

--

"Where the hell are you going? Where the hell are they going?" Abraham asked Tara as you and Glenn started walking away from the truck.

"I don't know what you lady friend's told you about the special nature of the mission we're on, but this shit is time-sensitive and we're already way behind schedule. So I need you to turn your asses around and get back in the truck." He said to you and Glenn. You only went with them because you and Tara couldn't fight off all the walkers with Glenn unconscious.

"We gotta go." He said.

"It seems like neither of you's been paying close enough attention to the hell on earth we've been living in. So let me tell you how to best avoid winding just another dead-alive prick. You find some strong, like-minded comrades and you stay stuck together like wet on water. We need people. The more the better. We need each other. Even with all that gear on your shoulders, you've got a pregnant woman with you, you won't last a night. Not by yourselves."

"We'll take our chances." You said.

"I'm gonna have to insist that you hold the hell up. All right, believe it or not, the fate of the entire damn human race might depend on it."

Glenn backed away slapping Abraham's hand away from his chest. "What the hell are you talking about? Who is this guy?"

"I'm Sergeant Abraham Ford. And these are my companions Rosita Espinosa and Dr. Eugene Porter. We're on a mission to get Eugene to Washington, DC. Eugene's a scientist and he knows exactly what caused this mess," He said.

"All right. So what happened?"

"It's classified," Eugene said.

"He'd been talking to the muckety-mucks in Washington on his satellite phone. The past couple of weeks, nobody's been picking up on the other end. We saw how you handled those corpses back there. We could use your help."

"Sorry," Glenn said walking past Abraham.

You and Tara followed him. "We had to get off that road. You were passed out, we were out of bullets. I know how to get back to that bus. I wrote down every turn. I will get you guys back if I can, okay?" Tara said.

"That's where she'd go to find me. That's where I'm gonna go."

"It's a waste of time. Tara told us what went down. There is zero chance you will ever find your wife or husband again. Alive or dead. Mainly because, sorry to tell you, they're gone. No need for you to die, too. Now come on. Get back to the truck. Do something with your lives."

Glenn dropped the backpack to the ground and stared at the road. You were fuming. He could not possibly just accuse your loved ones to be dead.

"When the people we love kick... well, they disappear. Doesn't mean you've got to go out that way, too."

Glenn turned around and punched Abraham across the face, and you picked up the backpack from the ground.

"She's alive and I'm gonna find her."

"You son of a bitch!" Abraham tackled Glenn to the ground. You threw the backpack to the side and kicked him off of Glenn.

You tried to help Glenn up when Abraham tackled you to the ground. He choked you and you heard the screams telling him to stop. Your vision was getting blurry as you tried to pry his hands off your throat.

You choked as Glenn pushed him off of you. There wasn't any air, you couldn't breathe.

"(Y/N)?!" Tara yelled. There was a face in front of you but your vision was too blurry to tell who it was. The voices became muffled, but you heard loud gunshots before you passed out.

--

You won't find him.

There's no point in looking for him.

He's already dead.

You opened your eyes and sat up quickly. Glenn was sleeping on the train tracks next to you. Abraham and Tara were talking by a tree. Eugene and Rosita were sleeping on the ground below them.

The voices didn't leave your head. They kept telling you he was dead. In your heart, you knew Daryl was still alive, but your mind didn't want to believe it.

You must've woken up Glenn because he sat next to you rubbing his eyes. Your hands were in your hair, pulling. The voices got louder and louder. They wouldn't go away.

You whimpered as a hand rested on your shoulder. "(Y/N), are you okay?" Glenn shook your shoulder gently when you didn't answer him.

You looked down as teardrops fell onto your palms. As you shook your head, Glenn pulled you into a hug and rubbed your back.

"They're alive. Daryl's okay. Maggie's okay. Everyone's okay."
