Chapter 14: Progress

The next day, Gray went back to to the guild, waiting there was Jules.

"Hey, there you are." Jules said. "I just want to say I'm sorry about yesterday, I made you feel bad and you remembered her."

"No, it's alright." Gray said. "It wasn't your fault. Anyways, do you still need something? I thought you have everything."

"Um, maybe you want to hang out or something?" Jules says shyly.

"Don't you have something to do?" Gray asked her. "And don't you need to go back to HQ?"

"I mean, I have all week to go there." Jules said in a soft voice. "And I don't know where to go."

Gray sighed and said,

"But I have to go and do some jobs and—" Gray got cut out by Jules.

"Please, I'll pay you. Thing of this as your job." Jules gave him the puppy eyes.

"How much?" Gray asked her.

"I can do 50000J." Jules said.

Gray thought about it for a minute and said,

"Fine. I'll do it. But again, this is not a date." Gray said.

Jules smiles happily, "Thank you so much. Come on, let's go." She holds his hand and Gray blushed a little bit.

The three girls saw them going out holding hands.

The girls were cooing, "that's great progress, girls. Now we need to make them love each other." Erza said.

Gray and Jules were walking beside each other. Jules was keeping her head down so that Gray can't see her blushing.

Gray was thinking of what to do to keep her entertained, then he remembers something.

"I know where to go, come with me." He held her hand and her face was getting red by the minute.

They went to the places where Gray and Juvia went on their dates. The arcade, the cafe, and the bar.

They spent the whole day together and Gray was having more than ever, he was being his old self with Jules.

The girls were following them the whole way.

"Look at him." Lucy said. "He's hasn't been like this since Juvia past away."

"I'm happy for him." Erza said. "Our friend is finally happy."

They were chatting in the bar and having a drink. Jules was giggling over Gray's jokes.

"I can't believe you did that." Jules was giggling.

After an hour, Jules was drunk. She was the emotional type of drunk. So, she was crying for every little reason.

"Gray, I never thought you were *hiccup* so dreamy and nice." Jules said as she was crying.

"Ok, Jules. You're drunk. Let's get you home." Gray insisted.

Then, was crying even more. "Why do want Jules to go home? Don't you *hiccup* like me?" Jules said sobbing.

Gray was surprised that she spoke like Juvia, in third person. This made him want to send her home even more.

So, he carried her on his back and they went to Jules' apartment.

"Gray? Jules suddenly spoke. "I don't want you to think that I'm replacing your one true love. I know you don't love me and I'm fine with that."

"I don't want you to get hurt as well." Gray replied but she fell asleep.

Meanwhile, the girls slept in their hiding and when they woke up, Gray and Jules were gone.

"Huh? Where are they?" Levy said.

"Oh no, we lost them." Erza said.

"Let's just leave them and go home." Lucy insisted and yawning.

"Yeah, let's go." Erza said.

Gray finally made it to Jules' apartment and went inside to put Jules on her bed.

He put her down and says,

"Oh, man. Why do I get a feeling of Juvia around her?" Gray said to himself.

"Maybe I am Juvia." Jules said randomly.

He was surprised by her response and he looked at her thoroughly.

He thought that she had the same pale skin that Juvia had, similar body and same lips.

"How can she resemble so much of Juvia?" Gray said to himself.

He goes out of the apartment and goes to Juvia's grave on the middle of the night."Juvia, I miss you so much." Gray said to the tombstone. "I'll always love you no matter what."
