What Jules didn't know is that Gray was just wandering around town and not looking a place to talk with her.
"Um, so where can we do the interview?" Jules asked her.
They finally stop walking under a tree.
"Look, I'm just gonna say it right now." Gray spoke, "I made a bet to Lucy that if you come to Magnolia, then I'll try to make you like me. But I'm not in the mood right now and—" he was cut short by Jules putting her point finger on his mouth.
"Don't worry I knew. She admitted. "Well, I had a hunch because of them acting suspicious and forcing you to go out, even if you don't want to."
"Can I ask why you don't want to go out with any other girl?"
He didn't answer and just looked a t the ground.
"Uh, you alright?" Jules asked him.
"Because I already love someone." He said in a soft tone. "She was my one true love. But..."
He couldn't finish the sentence.
Jules finally realises, "She's gone, isn't she?" Gray was surprised that she knew.
"How did you...?" Gray asked her.
"I saw my friend on her desk that she made an article about an accident in Fairy Tail a year ago.
Someone planted a bomb and a female wizard stopped the explosion." She explained. "That female wizard was your girlfriend, was it?"
"Yeah, so know you why I'm like this." Gray explained. "And next week is the death anniversary."
"So, please, leave me alone." And he walks away.
She pouts and ignored him and still followed him.
He noticed her and said,
"You're really persistent." Gray said. "You remind me of her."
"Yeah? Because when I need an article, I get my article. So even if you're sad and sulking, I'll get my story, one way or another." She said in confidence.
"Okay, you'll get your story." Gray said.
"Yes!" As she fist pumps the air.
"Tomorrow." Gray added and walks away.
"Okay, tomorrow, that's a promise." She said.
Meanwhile, in the bushes, Erza, Lucy and Levy were stalking Gray and Jules.
"I think everything is going according to plan, ladies." Erza said.
