We'd camped for the night and I was still paranoid. Every time Kíli went out of my sight I freaked out. I knew he wouldn't let it go, even though it wasn't really that bigger deal.
After we'd had dinner I went and sat down with the other girls, who were all talking to each other. Dansoa was talking to Laura about what she'd learnt from talking to Balin.
"Apparently one of the reasons that the others were so surprised the other night was that Dwarves are very secretive about their language," she said. I sat down beside Dansoa.
"You know, you being able to learn languages in a second would have been very handy in French," I state.
"That's what I thought," Dansoa exclaimed.
"Hobbit!!!" I froze. I turned to see Dwalin standing behind me he was fuming. I was petrified.
"What's the matter?" I asked, well more like squeak out.
"Where are my knuckledusters?" he growled out. I looked at him confusedly.
"What?" My voice shook with fear.
"I asked, where did you put my knuckledusters? Tell me now!" He roared.
"I don't know!" I cried.
"If you don't give them back right now, I'll personally make your life a living hell," he started forward.
"I swear! I never touched them!" My heart was pounding in my ears. I was frozen, absolutely petrified.
"I've got just five words for you... you really fell for it," my head shot up. I stared at Dwalin in disbelief. Then I saw Kíli craking up behind him, holing the knuckledusters that I was just accused of stealing. I started to tear up. I can't believe they did that to me. I sat on the ground letting everything sink in. It felt like the time Sam Carry tripped me up when I was piggybacking someone. I tried for a second to laugh it off, but soon dissolved into a puddle of tears. I felt someone hug me and I heard the distinctive sound of Shania yelling at the two.
"You bloody asshat, I can't believe you did that you f**king idiot!!! You scared her half to death!!!!" I looked up to see Dwalin on the ground clutching his groin and Shania punching Kíli in the face. "She's gonna have enough near death experience on this journey!!!" She kept ranting. I decided to intervene before she killed them.
"It's ok Shania, it was just a joke, they didn't mean any harm and I might as well get used to being scared out of my mind," I pull the still angry Shania away from the two Dwarves. They stared after us in fear of the fuming female beside me. I turned to them and smiled in a friendly way.
"It was a pretty good prank, I'll give you that, you'd better watch your back," with one last sickly sweet smile I turned back to my friends. I looked at Laura and smile. She smiled back and I could tell we were both thinking the same thing, prank war.
Kíli's POV
I watched Abi as we set up camp. She kept looking at me with slightly fear filled eyes. With good reason too. I contemplated how to get her back. I watched her and noticed she always stayed well away from Dwalin and Thorin. An idea popped into my head. Oh this was going to be good. I walked over to Dwalin. He eyed me suspiciously. I smiled and he narrowed his eyes at me.
"Dwalin," I say.
"What do you want?" he growled.
"How would you like to help me give a certain hobbit lass a scare? You know to help her become accustom to the frights she'll have to endure on this journey," he smiled at my suggestion.
"What exactly did you have in mind?" I tell him my plan and he laughs.
"That aught ta be fun," he said. He takes his knuckledusters off and hands them to me. I watch him walk over to the girls.
"Hobbit!!! Girl!!!" Dwalin yells. Abi spins around and freezes. She looks petrified.
"What's the matter?" She squeaks out.
"Where are my knuckledusters?" he growled out. Abi looks at him. Confusion clear in her eyes.
"What?" I found it hard to not laugh at her shaking voice.
"I asked, where did you put my knuckledusters? Tell me now!" Dwalin roared.
"I don't know!" She looked like she was going to cry.
"If you don't give them back right now, I'll personally make your life a living hell," he started forward.
"I swear! I never touched them!" I decided to revel that it was a prank
"I've got just five words for you... you really fell for it," her head shot up as I said those words. Her eyes filled with relief which turned to shock. For a moment it looked like she was laughing, but that soon changed and she was sobbing on the ground. I felt a little guilty as Dansoa hugged her, but my guilt turned to fear as Shania came forward. She promptly kicked Dwalin below the belt. Then she advanced on me.
"You bloody asshat, I can't believe you did that you f**king idiot!!! You scared her half to death!!!!" She yelled as she punched me.
"She's gonna have enough near death experience on this journey!!!" I curled into a ball as she kept on attacking us. Suddenly she was pulled away.
"It's ok Shania, it was just a joke, they didn't mean any harm and I might as well get used to being scared out of my mind," I looked at Abi who was restraining Shania from murdering us. She smiled at us.
"It was a pretty good prank, I'll give you that, you'd better watch your back," I felt somewhat scared at how she would get us back, but I guess we did scare the living daylights out of her. We kind of deserve it. I look at my Dwalin who was starring after the two. I think I may have just started a war.
