Y'ello 🙋 How are you? I'm good 👍 Well thanks for reading. Bye for now 🙋
Abi's POV
I officially dislike the rain. Why? Well mainly because I woke up this morning looked out and realised.
"We have to ride through this shit weather," I stated it plainly. Shania looked at me and laughed.
"Yup now you know how I felt when I had to ride Charlie in the rain, Karma bitch," I sighed.
"Don't believe in Karma, bitch," I looked around and noticed we were getting some pretty weird looks.
"What?" Shania asked.
"It's nothing, we just haven't gotten over the fact that ladies like you can use such vulgar language and insult each other like that," Balin said. I looked up at Shania and we burst out laughing.
"Well, a fake friend will help you up when you fall, a real friend will jump on top of you yelling 'dog pile!' Then help you to the hospital for broken ribs," the girls who had accumulated around me laughed. While the Dwarves just stared in confusion. Once we had finished giggling, well almost, we went to get breakfast. Laura over the corse of the week found that she really truly did need breakfast in the morning. So she grudgingly took a bowl of the, in her mind, disgusting glop and ate it quickly. We all followed suit and shovelled the stuff down our throat.
Once the camp site was cleaned up Thorin called for us to move out.
"Girl," wow my name used to have Hobbit in it. Now I'm just 'girl'. I looked over at Thorin.
"You're riding with Bofur today," I nodded and smiled to myself. Bofur was most definitely my favourite riding companion. He was funny, sweet and doesn't make fun of me every chance he could like some of the others. So despite the pouring rain I was at least a little bit happy.
"Mornin' lass, how'd you sleep?" He asked.
"Great thanks, what about you?" I replied.
"Good thanks, so you ready?" I nodded. He grabbed me round the waist and lifted me up onto his pony. It was a little routine we had. He'd help me up straight away. While the others let me struggle for a bit before helping me. As soon as I was up he swung up himself. Once we were all mounted Thorin started off. Everyone followed him without question. So within a few minutes we were all soaked to the bone. It was fucking freezing. I pressed myself as close to Bofur as possible seeing as he was the only heat source available. The company seemed just as glum as the weather and were surprisingly silent. I was brooding on how to get Kíli and Dwalin back for the little prank they pulled a few weeks ago. While I was debating what I should do Bofur reached into his coat and pulled out his pipe. I giggled as I watched him try and light it in the pouring rain.
"Forever the optimist," I stated after watching him for a few minutes. He looked down at me and laughed.
"I guess so lass, lass are you ok?" He asked. I gave him a questioning look.
"You're lips are blue lass," he said. My mouth formed a little 'o'.
"Hmm, yeah, I guess I'm just a bit cold, but then, I don't think anyone's toasty warm right now, I'll be fine," I said with a reassuring smile.
"What ever you say lass," he said. I looked back ahead a resumed my prank planing. Before I gotten too far I felt something being placed around my shoulders. I looked and one of Bofur's cloaks around my shoulders. I looked up and saw him smiling. I nodded my thanks, even if it didn't do that much. It's the thought that counts.
I'd come up with multiple plans by midday, but none of them seemed to fit. I was halfway through another plan when Bomburs voice broke into my thoughts.
"So, lass, what's your family like?" He asked. He didn't normally talk to me so it took me a second to comprehend his sentence.
"Well, as far as family goes they're all I could ask for, I have three sisters at home, there's Jessy, the oldest she's two years older than me, then there's Cassy and Clara, Cassy's seven but looks like a four year old and Clara's four and looks like a five year old. Then of course there's mum and dad, dads a doctor while my mum stays home and tries to stay sane. We're a pretty crazy bunch," I smiled at the memory of my family. Bifur brought me out from my thoughts with a series of words in Khuzdul. I looked up at Bofur for an explanation.
"Bifur here is just asking you if you're alright. He said that you look a bit cold," Bofur explained. I smiled at Bifur.
"Yeah I'm fine, just a tinsy bit cold, I can suck it up and keep going, but thanks for asking," I said with a sweet smile. Bifur looked up at Bofur and grunted something in Khuzdul. Bombur started to laugh heartily while I gave Bofur a confused look.
"Should I ask?" Bombur laughed even harder and Bifur chuckled. I looked up at Bofur.
"What did he say?" I asked. Bofur's face turned into a frown. He hissed something at Bifur, also in Khuzdul so I couldn't understand. Soon they were having a heated discussion to which I was oblivious. I looked at Bombur for help, but found none.
"Sorry lass, I'm not at liberty to tell you," I nodded accepting the fact that I would be kept in the dark on this one. But it still weighed on my mind. What did Bifur say. Oh well I may never find out.Shania's POV
When we stopped for the night. After I'd finished helping with the ponies I sat down and began to think.
How are we even here? Was the question weighing on my mind. One minute we were in Matamata and the next we're in the real Hobbiton. How is that possible? It was really getting me worked up. But no matter how hard I thought I couldn't figure it out.
Suddenly a shout was heard on the other side of the campsite I looked up and saw Dansoa coming over holding her backpack. There was a big smile on her face.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Nothing I just found something amazing," I raised an eyebrow at her.
"Really, what's that?" In answer to my question she pulled out a pack of Uno. A smile found it's way onto my face.
"Why didn't you find this earlier?" I asked. She just shrugged.
"Wanna play a game?" I nodded and called the other girls over.
"What we doing?" Abi asked.
"You guys wanna play Uno?" Dansoa asked. The others smiled and sat down.
"Sure," so it started. I shuffled the deck and dealt the cards. Soon we were playing a wonderful game.
Abi won the first three rounds and would have won the forth if I hadn't got the others to gang up on her. Soon I was having a winning streak.
"Haha Uno!!! I win again!!!" I cried in happiness.
"I told you that she's playing us," Abi huffed.
"Oh shush, I'm just amazing," I replied.
"What is it that you ladies are playing there?" We all looked up to see Balin standing just behind us.
"Oh it's a game called Uno, it's a great way to pass the time, you wanna have a go?" Abi asked. Balin looked intrigued and sat down.
After a few minutes of explaining the rules, we started a new game. Surprisingly Balin won. Then again, then again, then again. I decided to employ my tactic of ganging everyone up on him. But he saw right through it and stopped me from winning. In the end it was Dansoa who claimed victory.
"You're really good at this," Abi pointed out.
"Well I am a lot older than you so that could be why, more experienced," he said. Abi started to giggle.
"Yeah, that's probably it," she said.
"So do any of you want to make a friendly wager? How about we start betting?" With that Abi stood up.
"You guys can if you want, but I'll keep my money thank you very much," with that she walked away.
"Umm I think I'll go with her," Dansoa said standing up.
"Well I'm in," Laura said. I nodded,
"Might as well," I said and the game began.
