ACT 1 SCENE 4
-In the police precinct, Connor is sitting across from sara with a large notepad in his lap. Charles is pacing behind Sara. Rachel sits at another desk. Suddenly, her phone rings. After a few yeses and nos, she looks at Connor
Rachel: She is at it again, Sir.
Connor: Go get her. Put her in the pen until tomorrow. Hopefully she’ll sober up and stay that way.
-Rachel exits and Connor turns back to Sara
Connor: Now, tell me again how you found him. You got home and...?
Sara: I got home from shopping for our dinner and *breaking up* He was just lying there! on the floor! *composes herself again* I ran next door and got my neighbor *motions to Charles who stops pacing and sits next to her* and we called the police. Now we’re here.
Connor: Ma’am, is there anyone who would wish your husband harm?
Sara: No. No one. My husband was wonderful to everyone.
Charles: Well, he was a great brownie maker. Maybe he refused someone the recipe one day!
-Sara and Connor look at him astonished. Charles seems proud of his statement. Rachel re-enters holding a handcuffed Aly
Rachel: She is feisty tonight, Sir. She punched someone.
Aly: You’ll never take me alive!
Rachel: Shut up! I already caught you.
Aly: Silly coppers, when will you learn. You can’t catch Captain Cupcake, Captain Cupcake catches you! HaHaHaHa!
Rachel: Settle down now. You know how this goes.
Aly: Doesn’t mean I can’t have a little fun with it.
-Rachel drags Aly off stage. Connor turns once again to Sara
Connor: Sorry about her. She’s convinced she’s some kind of superhero. She goes out and gets drunk and then runs around in a cape screaming at people.
Sara: It’s alright. I’m glad we have our brilliant police force to protect us.
Connor: There is nothing else I need right now. Is there someone you can stay with for the evening?
Charles: *To Sara* You can stay with me. I’ve got a guest room all made up.
Sara: Thank...
-Aly comes charging across the stage followed closely by Rachel
Aly: To infinity, and beyond!
