//COMING HOME\\

"Okay, okay, we have to stay calm."

"How can we stay calm!" "We started glowing!" The twins yell at the same time.

They were now back to normal and had gotten rid of the green surrounding them, not even knowing how they did it.

Pepper looks at them with an unrecognizable expression. Something in between confusion and freaking out.

They fall silent. Pepper seems to take a big, deep breath before saying "Try it again."

The two look at her as if she had just grown two heads. "Sorry what?" Lydia asks, with Lucas following with one of his own questions, "You want us to do that again?"

Pepper nods.

Lucas shares a look with his sister before taking a deep breath. "Alright." He says, looking from Pepper to Lydia.

His sister holds out her hands, "So what?" She asks, "We just touch each others shoulder and bam we light up?"

Lucas shrugs as if to say 'I guess'.

Lucas holds his hands up and slowly they reach out for each other.

When their hands connect with the other they close their eyes tight expecting something big. But when they open them again they find that they are still their regular selves.

They look to Pepper in confusion before she nods and says "Try again."

In unison the twins nod and stick their hands towards the other with a little more force.

When their touch collides they are blinded with a big green light. When the light dies down the trio marvels at the sight infront of them.

Once again, surrounded by a green entity, are the twins as they stand side by side.

Pepper shuffles a few steps back to avoid the heat produced by her unofficially adopted children. But she stares stunned at the sight still.

Lucas studies the green aurora surrounding his hands before smiling up at his sister who is looking her body over.

Lydia watches as green flame-like entities crawl across her body. It morphs around her legs and torso as it crawls over her arms and hair as well. She looks up at Pepper with glowing green eyes that mimic her brothers. What's most odd is that they can still see the iris and pupil of each others eye's, only it's grazed over with a cloudy, green substance, almost like a fake contact.

Pepper examines them, her mind reels with thoughts about what to do next and she does her best to remain calm while wishing Tony were there to help her.

Lucas suddenly beams at an idea, "Let's see what else we can do."

"No!" Pepper's eyes widen. This causes the two twins to look at her disappointingly.

"We wait until night time, just in case." she reasons.

The two twins contemplate before nodding their head.

"How the heck do we stop this?" Lydia eventually asks.

Lucas shrugs before simply saying "Maybe if we think really hard it will go away."

Lydia nods her head, satisfied with the answer. Both twins close their eyes tight and focus on their natural bodies. Their green skin and normal brown irises along with their non-burning forms.

Pepper watches in awe as the flames surrounding the twins disappear in an instant as if they were never there to begin with.

Pepper stayed true to her word. After dark the trio went out on the balcony and discovered more about the twins abilities.

First off was flying.

Lydia had stuck her hands out towards the ground beneath her and shot straight into the air. She may have put a human-shaped hole in Pepper's favourite patio umbrella but despite that the twins were ecstatic.

The next ability they discovered happened when Lucas went to pick up a mug of hot chocolate. The mug burned right through his fingers, floating down to the ground in a pile of ashes.

The discovery session had ended when Lydia shot Lucas.

She managed to produce a ball of green fire but things had gone downhill when she lost control and accidentally sent it hurtling towards her brother. Lucas was lucky enough to deflect the attack, however, the bird flying above them had not been so lucky.

That was when Pepper called it a night and sent the two inside to go to bed.

{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}

It had been a total of three months since the disappearance of Lucas and Lydia's father, the famous billionaire Tony Stark.

Everyone had lost hope in the billionaires return.

The military had stopped looking, they decided to put their resources towards more important things. Rhodey had claimed he had not given up, but the way he spent his time stated otherwise to the twins. Pepper had begun to look for a new job as well as Happy.

Stark Industries was mourning.

The Stark children were mourning.

That was until Pepper came stumbling into their room one morning.

Tears streamed down her face and a muffled sob caught the attention of the 9 year olds.

"What is it?" Fear crawled through Lydia. Her mother seemed frantic and an eerie feeling flowed through the room until she cried out. "They found your father."
