//NEW RESPONSIBILITIES\\
"Their babies!" He runs his hand down his face in annoyance.
"They have no home!" She argues back.
"They're green!"
There's a silence as Pepper takes a moment to think of a way to argue against the fact just mentioned.
The trio stares at the pod, two green babies sitting within its depths. Their skin appears scaly and green, their ears seem bigger and pointier than normal. Well, to the trio, everything about those babies seemed abnormal.
"Tony," Rhodey decides to step in and Tony is quick to speak up. "This better be something I wanna hear." Tony says quickly.
Rhodey takes a moment, inhaling and exhaling before he speaks. "I think Pepper is right."
Almost immediately, Tony speaks up, practically yelling "That's not what I want to hear!"
Pepper seems to have calmed down, talking to Tony now instead of yelling. "What else are we suppose to do with them?" She motions to the two silent babies, still inside the pods they had came in.
The trio looks over and watches as the babies stare up at the ceiling, the only emotion on their face being wonder. What was a wonder to the trio was how the hell they got here.
"I don't," Tony sighs, "I don't know. Give them to the government or something."
Rhodey shakes his head. "What do you think is going to happen to two green babies in a government facility."
"What do you think is going to happen when Tony Stark has two green children." Tony fires back.
It's all silent for a moment and they continue to stare at the identical babies.
"He has a point." Pepper sighs after a moment.
Tony motions his arm towards his assistant, looking to Rhodey as he states "See? She gets it."
But Pepper isn't done, "But the Colonel also has a point."
Rhodey raises his eyebrows and Tony looks at Pepper in betrayal.
"Then what do we do?" Rhodey asks after another moment of silence.
"I don't want them." Tony says. More silence follows as the trio debates what to do with the two small children.
Pepper stares at the two.
What the hell were they suppose to do with two green babies?
The one infront is starting to become disinterested in the ceiling and more interested in a blue blanket wrapped around its torso. It's a wonder to Pepper that they've lasted this long without crying.
Maybe if the press were here they wouldn't be so calm.
Where was the press? Had nobody noticed a big object crash land in the Tony Starks house?
That's when Pepper clues in to something and an idea starts to form in her mind.
"What if we keep them." She speaks out to Tony.
Tony looks at her in confusion. "Sorry, but weren't you the person that, 5 seconds ago, said that was a bad idea? And did you not just hear me say I don't want them?"
"No, wait, just let me finish." Pepper pushes.
Normally she wouldn't be pushing her boss like this, but desperate times call for desperate measures. She at least had to express her idea.
"Nobody knows they're here, if they did there would be press swarming this place already."
Rhodey seems to clue in as he speaks up as well. "You're saying keep them here, but keep it a secret?"
Pepper nods her head and looks to Tony.
"There's got to be something else we can do." Tony sighs. "I don't want to be raising 2 kids."
Pepper is quick to speak up. "I can take care of them. I'll watch over them and you don't have to worry about a thing, just provide them with a home and secrecy and I can do the rest."
Tony doesn't answer right away. Instead, he looks to Rhodey for an answer.
Rhodey doesn't answer either, he only shrugs, which leaves Tony to sigh for what feels like the hundredth time that day.
"Alright." Tony finally says. "But I am not taking care of those things."
Pepper smiles and nods. "Of course. I will be in charge of them 24/7 Mr. Stark."
The two look to Rhodey, who tells them "I never saw anything."
Pepper nods a silent thank you to the military man.
"It's settled then." She looks over to the 2 tiny figures in the pod. "We'll protect them."
woooo! They're deciding to keep the babies!
Kinda sad Tony doesn't want them though, where do you think they came from?
Do you think they'll be able to keep them a secret?
