//BREAKING BABIES\\
It had been three months since the pod had crash landed in Tony Starks living room. Pepper Potts had stuck to her agreement. She watched the two kids day and night with no break, she had even acquired herself a room at Starks house where she stayed with the children.
On the nights where Tony partied Pepper would sneak the children back to her place, which seemed to be happening quite a lot.
Tony had kept up with his part of the deal, though, and continued to provide the babies with shelter and privacy.
Pepper fed them, changed them, and played with them.
For the most part they were well behaved babies, a boy and a girl, she had found out a few days into the arrangement.
Sometimes she was able to leave them alone in a playpen while she went to run errands for her boss.
Today was one of those days.
She had meetings to attend, calls to make, deals to close and conferences to organize. She was busy out of her mind and was spending the whole day running in, out, and around the building to get things done.
She had left the babies in their playpen on the main floor while she had run upstairs to take a call.
She had an important investor on the phone and needed to schedule a conference before he was booked for the month. This man would benefit the company greatly and Pepper could not afford to lose him.
This left the small boy and girl, still unnamed, alone in their playpen. The little girl sat teething on a small plastic ring while the boy hit a red hotwheels car into the ground.
Tony had been downstairs finishing that one engine up when Pepper first left the children alone, and now he had been coming upstairs to get a drink.
He walked towards the bar, noticing the children and immediately chosing to ignore them. They were lucky enough he was letting them live there, he didn't want to stare at them all day though.
At first, the babies were easy to ignore, but the longer he stayed upstairs, the more attention the little ones seemed to want to get.
It was getting harder to ignore them and they only got more annoying.
They began to make random noises his way, trying to get him to look at them and to gather his attention. The more he ignored them the more upset they became, yelling louder for his attention, the young boy even throwing his toy on the ground out of frustration.
Despite himself, Tony's curiosity finally got the better of him and he looked over at the children. He wondered what it must be like to hold a child, an odd child at that.
The girl seems to smiled triumphantly at gaining his attention and she dropping her toy to slap her hands against her legs.
Tony set his glass down, he slowly and carefully walked over.
He didn't know babies at all, never had one and never wanted one. He didn't know what spooked them, what made them annoyingly cry for no reason or anything along those lines. He just wasn't sure.
As he neared the playpen the babies seemed to cease their noises. He looked around to try and spot Pepper, who wasn't in sight. Was he making them quiet? That couldn't be.
They quirked their heads to the side and it almost reminded him of someone but he couldn't quiet place it.
The baby boy held up his small, green arms towards Tony, as if asking him for something.
Tony wasn't quite sure what this meant and wasn't too keen on figuring it out. But the more the boy reached the sooner Tony realized what he must want.
"Hell no. I am not touching a green baby." Tony said at first, but the boy seemed persisant, and didn't give up until Tony sighed.
He gave a look of disgust at the child, not believing himself at the moment and silently scolding himself for giving in to even coming upstairs.
Tony quietly cursed the scotch he had wanted so badly, but he reached his hands down none the less.
"I don't know how to hold you so don't get mad at me." Tony murmers as he reaches down into the playpen and grasps the little boy.
He holds the boy from under his arms and lifts him up to eye level, but he doesn't bring him any closer.
He keeps the boy at arms length and studies the little one from a distance.
It almost seems as if the little boy is studying him too.
Something odd begins to happen.
The little green around the boys left eye fades. Within half an inch around it is no longer green but a skin colour to match Tony's. His eye now resembles the dark brown in Tony's and the sudden change startles the billionaire so much that he almost drops the baby.
"Pepper!" He yells.
When she doesn't answer he yells through the house again, basically dropping the child onto the couch. "Pepper!"
He hears loud footsteps and looks terrifyingly at the baby who giggles at him.
When he looks up he see's Pepper on the level above him, worry plastered on her face as she stares down at Tony and the children.
"What is it?" she practically yells, her phone clutched tight to her chest, so hard her knuckles begin to turn white.
Tony looks from Pepper to the baby, angling him to a position where she can see the young one's eye.
"I think I broke the baby!" He almost shrieks out of fear.
Pepper looks at him, a hint of fear in her eyes.
So she hangs up her phone call and rushes down the stairs.
"What do you mean you broke the baby!?" She practically yells. She runs towards him as fast as her high heels will take her.
"Look!" Tony motions to the baby, Pepper takes the giggling child and immediatly examines him.
Her mouth drops at the sight and she stutters to find her words.
The boy giggles some more and green crawls back over the skin, covering it up, and the deep dark brown in the boys eye dissapears.
He giggles some more when Pepper continues her struggle for words.
"J.A.R.V.I.S.?" Is the only word her mouth seems to form.
"I can run some tests on the child and see what i can find, if you would like?" J.A.R.V.I.S. asks the pair.
Pepper looks over to Tony, who's face looks just as shocked and confused as her own.
"Uh." Tony shakes his head, as if ridding it of the memory momentarily. "Sure, lets do it, why not."
Pepper places the boy back down and Tony groans, "What the hell have I gotten myself into?"
