Alex's POV
Oh Gosh, I'm not ready for this.

A night away from Thomas?! That never happened before.
And
Me willing to see John again? I never really thought much about it because it just never was a deep thought.

But here I am, both things happening tonight.

I finally stood up from the bathroom floor and washed my hands achingly slow. After I decided that I had spent so much time alone sitting on the floor that Thomas would be gone by now. With that thought alone I took a step towards the door and then found my friends outside waiting.

"Ready for movie night, Alex!" Lafayette was really excited and for what I could account for I was too.

"Yeah." I sighed then took a couple ragged rough breaths.

"Alex, are you okay? Did Thomas do something again?" Herc, man, why did you have to notice?

"Uhm, well... I went to the bathroom but then I guess he followed me there and it just...?" My face was fine before the stop, then from there my face twisted up into a look I'm glad I can't see.

"C-Can we just go to the car first?"

"Of couse, Chérie! Herc can you go get the car..." My hearing started to become fuzzy and I saw Lafayette mouth something and Herc nodded walking away.

"Chérie, are you alright? Do you need anything for the car ride?" He must have thought I was getting sick on him but I didn't feel good mentally.

"Thomas. He followed me into the bathroom then hurt me again. Making the third time this week. Tenth this month." I looked ashamedly at Lafayette, his face grew a shade of white I've seen from the frenchman before and never wanted to see again.

"Alex, I'm so sorry. I could've gone with you, maybe I can next time. I should've gone to protect you." He held his face in his palm.

"Laf, I just need Laurens to look at me today then, don't apologize. You didn't cause this. Let's enjoy our movie night, okay?"

"Y-Yeah, okay. Let's do it." He nodded to himself.

As soon as that conversation ended a car pulled up. The car slowed down right in front of us and slowly rolled down the window. The man in the car was wearing sunglasses that blocked most of his face. He pulled them, equally as slow, off his face.

"Get in gays, we're going to movie night!"
Yelled Herc in the car now pulled up.

"Thank you, amour! Well, get in loser!" Laf yelled at me too.

I laughed so hard it hurt everywhere in my body.

"Okay, okay, but we're not watching Mean Girls! No way." I got in the car shaking my head at their references.

God, I have weird friends. I had that single thought buckling up and that happy one alone. With only a happy thought, I genuinely smiled the whole ride to their house.
