Chapter 17: Where are we?

Alex's POV

✧ ──── ≪•◦ ❈ ◦•≫ ──── ✧

We made it to the couch finally for real this time for movies. Now we only had time for two movies. First Lafayette got to choose, so we ended up with the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast.

We started to pull out blankets and found spots to sit with our fresh popcorn. Herc took his giant Lounge chair and Laf jumped to sit in his lap. I sat by the arm of the couch, following me John slowly sat down next to me but cautious to not get to close.

Stupid cute John.

Oop, did I just seriously say that in my head.

Halfway into the movie I desperately and jokingly made grabby hands towards John. To which he actually pulled me into his arms and on his lap.

It took me two minutes to focus on the movie again because I was so distracted and surprised by what he did.

Was I really sitting in his lap?!

Holy shit! John has me in his lap! He's holding me! I'm being held by John?

Wow, he's holding me like he used too. I take missed him holding me like this, it was always super comforting.

I noticed I started dozing off and leaning my head back onto John's shoulder and nestle my way into cuddling him closer. Every time I moved closer he held me tighter.

After the first movie I got to choose the next one, so we moved on to watching The Little Mermaid. What can I say, best music of the classic princess movies also Sebastian. He's such a funny character.

I reached for popcorn only to realize at some point during Beauty and the Beast we ran out. Deciding against more popcorn I settled on asking Lafayette for a glass of ice water. I know very specific and kind of odd, but whatever.

"Hey, Laf? Can I have some water?"

"Yeah, sure! Ice?"

"Yes please." I smiled feeling really safe and comfortable.

I didn't feel scared or like I have to look out for anyone yelling at me. No one was even mad at me. I like being back with my friends. Luckily my friends are so amazing and I can't believe I really left them behind. 

My friends helped me get out of this really bad place in my life, I'm happy.

I leaned back in John's lap and rubbed my head against his shoulder.

"I love you, Alex."

"What?!" 

"I love you, here's your water." Laf smiled and teased me, sticking his tongue out at me. 

"Laf! Why?" I pouted.

"We love you. Herc get over here, we're gonna group snuggle now!" 

"Fine, but I get to stay in John's lap. It's comfy and I feel safe."

I was surrounded by 'awes' from all three of them.

"Imma smack all of you if you keep up the sappy crap, snuggling is just beneficial to me so I'll allow it."
