(I'm sorry if the picture is blurry. I couldn't find any better ones.)

Unknown POV
I watched as my little sister lied down in the back of the cave. I couldn't help but feel upset for her. She missed our parents just as much as I did.

I know they told us not to blame ourselves, but I don't think we can help it. They died to protect us. If we could just see them one more time then maybe, just maybe, we would stop blaming ourselves.

Today is the anniversary of the day they disappeared all those years ago. For a while, we lived with our uncle, but then he put himself into a deep sleep. He couldn't deal with the pain of losing the love of his life.

Since then, me and my sister have been on our own. We try not to appear in public. We don't like to draw attention to ourselves. It just causes to many problems when it happens.

That and the fact that our family is seen as public enemy number one. It takes all our will power not to kill everyone in the magic counsel for making people think we are the bad guys.

I started to hear a muffled sound from the back of the cave. It was coming from my sister. I walked to her side and hugged her. We slid down the cave wall and she continued to cry into my chest.

I couldn't help but allow my tears to fall as well. We both missed our parents dearly. We have been searching for them for years. We know they are out there and alive. We just hope they remember. If not, we'll figure it out when it gets to that.

"Sshh, sshh. It's okay, it's okay. Mom and Dad wouldn't want to see us like this. You know that."

"I know, I just miss them. I want to find them so bad. I just want our family to be together." She said, still sobbing.

"I promise you, our family will be together again. I love you Nashi. Always and forever."

"I love you too Lukas, always and forever." She said into my chest.

Flashback
I was sitting in the floor in our house. Mom and Dad said they wanted to talk to us about something. I wonder what.

At this time, me and Nashi are six years old. She sat beside me playing with my hair. To most people, this would probably be a bother, but to me, it wasn't too bad. It was actually relaxing.

I watched as Mom and Dad came into the room. They gave us both loving smiles before sitting on the floor in front of us. Soon Uncle Zeref and Aunt Mavis joined us.

"Alright so, recently you asked us what our family's promise to each other was."

That's right. Every family during our time had a motto or a promise they went by. Me and Nashi wanted to know ours.

"Well, our family's promise was lost a couple of centuries ago. So we decided to make a new one." Dad continued.

"Now, we came up with one, but we want your guys approval of it. Uncle Zeref and Aunt Mavis already know what it is and they looked me it. Now it's up to you."

"Okay, what is it?" Nashi and I asked, getting impatient.

They all looked at each other and at the same time they all stated, "Always and Forever."

Me and Nashi looked at each other and we couldn't help but smile. We looked back at everyone. They had hopeful looks on their faces. We simply nodded.

They smiled and we all hugged one another. We all knew, no matter what, that promise would now bound us to each other, forever. Through life and death."

Lucy's POV
I was walking home in the evening when I got this strange feeling in my heart. It felt as though I had forgotten something important. I didn't know why, but it made my heart sting to know I didn't remember.

I continued to walk, hoping it was nothing. I got to my apartment and closed my door. I walked to my bed and flopped down onto it.

I had a long day. Natsu ended up causing a forest fire on our mission. To repay the town nearby, we lost half of our reward. To make matters worse, that stupid cat was constantly bugging me all day.

I continued to lie there until I felt a strange aura beneath me. It was familiar. It began to pull me toward it.

Without thinking, I pulled out a suitcase from underneath my bed, as if it had been there the whole time. I opened the suitcase to find a picture.

I picked the picture up and beneath it was a lacrima. I decided to examine the picture first. Looking at the picture, I saw a blonde haired boy with Natsu's spiky hair and eyes. Next to him was a pink haired girl with my hair and eyes.

Behind them stood, you won't believe this, Mavis and Zeref. The two children had their arms on each other's shoulders. The adults behind them had a hand on both of them. They were all smiling. While they were smiling though, I could see the pain behind their eyes.

The look in them reminded me of the many pictures I had from after my mother's passing before Fairy Tail. The look you get after losing someone.

I continued to stare down at the picture until I noticed a drop of water hit it. I held a hand up to my face to realize I was crying. But why? Why was this picture bringing me to tears. And why was Mavis and Zeref in it?
