We were then quickly tied up by I don't know how many people, but there were more than one. I had to admit, their skill was flawless.

As hard as we struggled, they tied us up like rag dolls and stuffed us into a van. The rope must have been steel or something, because Sean and Shanna tried their strength thing, but it wouldn't budge.

"Listen, I want to know why you abandoned us at Lockwood Inn." I said.

"It was too unsafe. It was being guarded by most of the Sins and a whole ton of hypnotized guards." replied Heath.

"You left us in the middle of that!" Luke yelled.

A dumb voice came from the front. "Quiet back there!" it groaned.

"Shut up, Sloth," replied Envy.

We rode in silence after that. After what seemed like hours, the engine stopped. I had hoped that we could be untied, and then we would unleash the fury of our anger on the Sins, however many of them there were. No such luck. We were at a junky gas station.

"Out of the car!" one of the Sins ordered. I assumed it was Pride. I thought it was strange that we were stopping at a gas station. Then I realized it wasn't a gas station. It was a knick knack shop. In the desert. My life must be going crazy, I thought.

"Inside!" Pride ordered. I knew we were in for it.

"Why is the store called Fish Mart?" asked Anastasia. Then I look and I realized she was right. In red neon on the front of the store was a big sign reading: Welcome to Fish Mart!

"Because that's the last thing we want our prisoners to see. A sign of their sanity failing."

Now I understood why the store had such a weird name. On every shelf, there were anatomy jars and taxidermied animals. Nothing else.

"This way!" barked Lust. He led us towards a door that said 'Authorized Access Only'.

"Go in!" he yelled.

"Unless you can't read, that says 'Authorized Access Only'." I retorted.

"WAS THAT AN ORDER, OR DID I SNEEZE?!" screamed Lust. I tried to ignore him, but the glare he gave me was too much, and I opened the door. Inside was when I decided that I needed to fight off the Sins, or I wouldn't be alive for much longer.

There was a corridor stretching for as far as I could see. It was elevated at least a few hundred feet over a pit of boiling... something. It looked as if it was an active volcano, but we were in a desert. I didn't know how that would work.

Off to the side, I heard Sam having a conversation with his lookalike, Greed. "If you're supposed to be me, how are you smart?"

Greed smiled back. "Being evil comes with an intelligence, my friend."

Sam snorted. "If you say so." He received a whack to the back of his head and a stern, "Don't talk back to us."

"So you can't talk back to me, because I'm you."

"F**k..."
Sam smirked to himself. "Wow. Even I can outsmart myself."

Heath was having a similar conversation with Gluttony. "Isn't it weird how we're in an active volcano, inside a shop, which is located in the desert?"

Gluttony shrugged in reply. "I guess. Wait a second... you're not trying to manipulate me, are you?"

Heath threw his hands up in the air, and quickly said, "Oh no, no, not at all..." He must not have been very convincing, because just like Sam, he got a whack in the back of the head. "Nice try there, buddy."

Eventually, we passed by a torture machine of some variety, and of course Shanna had to ask what it was for. Pride, her lookalike, answered, "That torture machine is only if things go TOO far. Let's hope that never happens."

"Why did you kidnap us?" Luke asked. Envy glared at him. "Listen, brat, I have had more than one incident with you, and I hope that doesn't happen again. Your alchemy can't stop us, and neither can any of your powers. I have told you more than you need to know."

Well, geez, I thought to myself. The rest of our walk from there was done in silence. I whispered to Sam, "Have fun finding a way out of this one," and then it was my turn to receive a blow to the head from Lust. "Quiet!"

HEATH

The Sins led us to our 'quarters', which were really cells, large enough to house no more that one person each. The first night was terrible. We were told to not talk or make noise, while we lay motionless. I heard Chomata scheming with someone before Pride came in and tried to hit him with a steaming iron rod.

Chomata's power was the only one that worked at first, probably because they couldn't suppress his invisibility.

"Cut that out, idiot!" Pride barked as she tried to spear Chomata. When she left, she glared at Luke and Chomata, and growled, "I'm watching you two."

In the morning, we got gruel in a stone bowl. Not exactly comfort food, but what the heck. We all tried talking when the Sins weren't looking, but they seemed to have eyes in every cell. The only one who ever made trouble was Chomata. I think he knew something that the rest of us didn't.

About a week or so later, I overheard Sean whispering something to Shanna, and she nodded. Then she began drilling a hole in the wall with her fists. After about 15 minutes, she passed by my room, and I hissed, "What are you doing!?"

"Making a secret passageway so we can meet up to talk. This might be our only means of doing so," she told me, then got right back to making the hole. After she was done, a note was passed around telling all of us to meet in there.

After we all met up in there, Shanna whispered to us, "We need a plan to escape."

"It's not worth it," Luke answered. "If we're caught by the Sins in the process, we're dead meat."

"I don't agree," Sam argued. "There's definitely a way out of here."

"No, there isn't!" Chomata argued back. Soon, we all began arguing and yelling at each other for a few minutes until a soft, sad voice moaned, "Just stop it, guys. It's not even worth it anymore."

Music: Gaia from Gradius IV

All squabbles ended instantly. There was only one person that voice could've come from.

"Anastasia? Is that you?" I asked. It had just come to my attention that she had never entered the cubby when we organized our meeting. She crawled inside, and all six of us currently in there gasped.

Her normally poofy mane of hair was tangled and limp against her shoulders, and her clothes were wrinkled and stained. But the worst part was her eyes. Her normally happy eyes were sad and dull.

Anastasia had also grown more and more depressed, impatient, and she wanted to give up. In fact, this was the first time she had spoken in days. I'm sure out of all of us, Anastasia was the most affected by being held hostage.

Shanna noticed it too. "Oh, Anastasia," she whispered softly. She was about to say more when Envy came in.

"LIGHTS OUT!!" he barked, wielding the rod again. Anastasia sank back into the shadows, and I laid down on the floor, sighing, preparing for another sleepless night.

LUKE

I couldn't wait through this much longer. I started to get up, and everyone asked, "Luke? What are you-" I punched my way through a cell, when a sharpening pain went right through me.

Music: Player Out Da! from Parodius Da! Arcade

"OWW!!! AHHHH-" I looked down, as something sharp and red and sticky was right through me. I fell down to the ground. "This is what happens when you think you can defy us." Envy said. Everything went black.
