It's about 8:30 now. I carry a backpack because Luke said it was better than a suit case so we traded it at the thrift store. We've been walking for a while now, I have no idea where we're going.

"It's getting dark out Luke." I said to him.

"That's what happens a when the day is over." He shrugged.

I rolled my eyes as we continued on. Eventually, Luke smiled when we got close to something that looked like complete trouble.

"Finally!" He whispered.

"We aren't going there, are we?" I asked.

It was an out door party, a huge group of intoxicated teens. They all had glow sticks and music blared as they all jump around to the beat.

"Let loose Nezbit." He shrugged.

I looked at our back packs, remembering how much money I saw in Luke's wallet when we went to get lunch, it wasn't a lot at all.

"What if someone steals from us?"

"Good thinking." He nodded, taking my bag. "Here," He said throwing them into a bush, "We can get them when we're done."

"I'm not sure about-"

"Come on!" He groaned as he walked toward the party.

I sigh.

He turned around as he continued to walk backward.

"It'll be fun!" He insisted, extending his arm with his hand out for me to grab.

I sighed as I ran to him and grabbed his hand. He let go and slumped his arm around my shoulders. We walk towards the moving mass. Eventually we were struggling to get past the ecstatic crowd.

I look up at Luke who still holds on around my shoulders, he seems thrilled by the craziness. I, however, am terrified. The youngest kid I've saw so far was probably seventeen. This looks like nothing but bad news.

The golden glow of the sun slowly leaves to where the only glow is the neon greens, pinks, blues, and yellows of the many glow sticks held and worn by the people surrounding us.

Luke releases me and pulls up my wrist to get a look at the time. He pulls his pants up that barely expose the waist band of his boxers. "Come on." He says as he starts to walk a bit faster.

I lock my eyes on the navy blue shirt that he still wears from hours ago so I'm sure not to lose him.

Suddenly, a guy who was clearly drunk, runs into Luke, then me, causing Luke to turn to his side, and me to fall completely down on my butt. The boy doesn't bother to apologize, and continues on stumbling to where ever it is that he's going.

Luke huffs, shaking his head and lifts me to my feet. "Keep up!" He demands.

I sigh as I pace behind him until we make it to a random couch in the middle of the chaos.

Luke sits on the arm rest while the kids on it, that I would hope to be dating, shove their tounges down each others throats. He takes out a pack of cigarettes, and puts it in his mouth and lights it. He breaths it in, then let's the grey mist float to where it wants.

"What are we doing?" I ask.

He leans in towards me to speak again because he couldn't hear me.

"I said, 'What are we doing?'" I repeat.

"Waiting on someone." He yells back.

I nod before awkwardly staring at my shoes.

He stands. "Sit down, I don't know how long she'll be."

I do as I'm told and he leans on me while we wait.

We stay there for a couple more moments.

"Hemmings!" A girl with neon blue hair that almost matched the glow sticks exclaims, looking towards Luke.

"Lace!" He says after her with a smile, pulling her into a hug.

"It's about time you came and saw me, you Australian bastard!"

"Well, I'm here now." He shrugs, with the smile that has yet to leave his face.

"Where's Molly, your partner in crime?" She ask.

"Well," He sighs. "She checked out."

"You mean...?"

"Unfortunately." He nods.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." She frowns.

"It's alright, I knew it would happen someday."

Wait. Who's Molly? And what does "checked" out mean exactly?

"But, I got myself another sidekick." He says rubbing my shoulder and looking towards me.

Wait, does that mean I'm going to "check out" too?! God! Why didn't I just follow the rule of not talking to strangers?! Damn it!

"Oh cool." His friend smiles, extending her hand. "I'm Lacey, but everyone calls me Lace."

"Nezbit." I reply.

She studied me with her eyes. "How old are you."

I felt embarrassed as I said the word, "Fifteen."

Her eyes widen as she looked to Luke. "Luke!"

"I didn't know!" He said throwing his hands up in defence. "Besides, she's just travelling with me. It's not like Molly and I fucked!"

"That's different."

"Doesn't have to be."

She chuckled as she shook her head. "You never fail to surprise me."

He chuckled in agreement.

"Well, I've got some stuff to do, if you know what I mean."

"Oh yeah you're right, me too." He nodded.

"Alright, see ya Luke." She says.

"Bye."

She disappeared in the crowd.

He turned to me.

"Alright, I've got some stuff to do tonight." He he leaned to me. "Here, take my wallet-"

"You're leaving me?!" I panic as he puts the wallet in my hand.

"Just for a couple hours." He nods.

"Hours?!"

He sighed. "You'll be fine. Just don't get drunk, and don't get mixed in with the wrong crowd."

"How do I even tell them apart?! They all look insane!"

"I don't know." He shrugged. "Go find the world peace freaks, they're nice."

He stood up straight.

"Luke!" I screach as he started to walk.

"I'll find you later tonight!" He yelled back.

"No! Luke, come back! Now!" I demanded.

He pointed to his ear. "I can't hear you."

"Yes you can!"

"No I can't the music is too loud."

"You're replying to me!"

"I'll find you later Nez." He finished before disappearing just as Lace had.
