Zayn's POV
"Rid of the feeling? You didn't have to make the poor girl cry!" I said.
"Yeah, it's easier that way though." He shrugged.
"Luke," I huffed shaking my head.
I couldn't even find the words to finish my thoughts. So I only shook my head and walked out of the room.
When I made it down the hall, I started to look for the young girl who was only staying in my house for the night.
"Nezbit?" I said, in attempt to find her.
She didn't reply.
I repeated myself and she didn't say a word. I let out a sigh. I checked the kitchen where she wasn't found, then the living room. She also wasn't there but the slider door blinds were pushed open, and the patio light was on.
Bingo!
I open the door and close it behind me. She was sitting on a bench at the end of the sidewalk patio.
I sighed. "Nezbit, it's cold out here, you don't even have a jacket."
Without making eye contact she quietly responded, "I'm fine."
I sighed as I walked towards her and sat next to her. "What did he say to you?" I asked.
"Nothing. It doesn't even matter."
"I think it does."
She shrugged, shaking her head, "How stupid of me? How could I think that I could just get on a train with someone and we would be best friends? He hates me."
I barely chuckled when I said, "He does not hate you. Alright? He is fucking crazy about you, Nezbit. I don't know what it is that you've done to him, but, he really does like you."
She started to pick at the nail polish on her nails, and with a sigh she said, "He wouldn't have said what he did."
What did he even say?
I decided what ever it was, she obviously didn't want to talk about.
"I should have never told him in the first place." She mumbled to herself.
I was lost for words, not really knowing what to say. I took a deep breath, hoping that after the long sigh, words would come out, but they didn't.
I then heard the screen door open. It was Luke, he walked our way, and for a moment I think he made eye contact with Nezbit, but I can't be sure.
He waved me away, so I stood, and went into the house.
Luke's POV
She turned her back towards me. God, how could I have been so stupid?
"Nezbit?" I said, although she didn't reply. "I want you to go inside, it's really cold out here and you don't have a jacket."
She was like a statue. No movement nor words.
"Nezbit you're going to have to talk to me soon-"
"I want to go back home." Her voice interrupted mine.
I went mute. Starring at the back of her head. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. "No." I said quietly, "No I'm not taking you back to America."
"Yes Luke." She said finally looking at me, it was obvious that she was holding back tears.
It shot pain in my heart knowing that she wanted to leave so badly, and so soon.
"Nezzy, you made a promise." I almost whined.
"And I trusted you with a secret." The first tear went down her face, "And you used it as a way to hurt me."
"No, Nezzy," I sighed, covering my eyes. "Please don't cry."
I heard sarcastic chuckle, along with a staggered breath. "Why does it make you feel guilty? If so, you fucking deserve it!"
I felt her lift her weight off the bench.
I looked up, she was going inside, but I caught her by her arm just in time, and pulled her back.
"Stop Luke!" She sobbed covering her eyes with the one hand I didn't have in my own.
I ignored her, pulling her closer to me and pulling her in for a hug. I rested my head on her stomach, rubbing her back. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I repeated a few times so I was sure she heard. "You can cry as much as you need. But leaving isn't an option. Because you didn't just make the promise to me, I made it to you too."
She didn't reply like I had hoped.
"Nez?" I asked looking up at her.
"Just let go, Luke." She frowned while a tear rolled down her cheek.
I had no other choice than to what she requested, if not I'm sure she would of grown more upset with me. I let go of her and she walked to the slider door, letting herself in.
I'm a fucking idiot.

Later, it had been about two hours since Nezbit had went off into the room we we're both staying in, I, however, stayed in the living room with Zayn, but he went to bed after about a half hour.
I turned off the TV, and turned off the lamp after. I had to feel my way through the dark I finally made it to the hall where I flipped the hall light on I made my way to the room to find that the light was off and Nezbit was sound asleep.
I frowned while I looked at her.
This just doesn't feel right.
I thought about flipping the bedroom light and waking her up, but I didn't want to blind her so I simply let the glow of the hall light shine in.
I sat on the bed beside her and rubbed her arm, hoping that would wake her, but it didn't. I started to say her name, and after a few attempts, she hummed in response.
"Are you up?" I whispered.
She yawned stretching her arms then covering her eyes, "I am now."
"Nezbit. I really am sorry. I'm sorry I woke you, but I really want you to know I am."
She sighed sleepily, "It's okay Luke, I know you were mad."
"Thank you." I smiled.
She forced her self up giving me a hug, I happily accepted. We sat there for a moment.
"Alright," I said, "You can go back to bed now."
She didn't reply, nor did she move.
"Nezbit?"
I chuckled.
I bored her to sleep.
I carefully leaned forward so she would lay on the pillow.
I could only wonder how much more interesting she would make the rest of our short journey together.
