We had just finished eating. We went across the street and suddenly Luke stopped.

"Shit!" He huffed.

"What is it?" I asked.

I was a little scared to know, considering how abruptly he said it.

"I forgot to pay. Wait here."

I let out a sigh of relief and nodded.

He jogged across the road while I leaned against the building I was by. I could see my breath as I'd breathe. The white mist would fly around me, when I purposely let out a big blow.

Few people walked by, and I assumed that I was hardly even noticed. I watched them all until one guy who had long hair with dreads walks by. He was biracial, and his matted up hair had the colors of blonde and brown. He carried a skateboard in one hand, and a cigarette in the other. He caught a glimpse of me and I quickly looked away as if I weren't ever looking, but it was probably clear that I was.

An older man with white hair suddenly was at my side. He seemed fit for his age and was much taller than me, but couldn't be any taller than Luke. He smiled, and I returned the action.

"What is a young girl, like you doing out here at this time of night?" He asked with an older rasped voice.

"Just, waiting for a friend." I answered awkwardly.

"Oh." He nodded. "That makes it easier for us."

I didn't quite understand what he ment by easier for us", so I turned my head to the side, peering up at him. "What?" I asked.

Suddenly, yet, another man who was bald, much younger than the white haired man, comes out of nowhere. He and his buddy that I was originally talking to, start to grab me to pick me up.

I scream at the top of my lungs. "Help!" I screamed. I kicked, and moved as much possible, trying to make it harder for them to get me. "Luke!" I yelled.

After about twenty seconds of trying to fight them off, it felt like ages, and I was already sobbing.

Suddenly, the bald guy was yanked away.

I was expecting to see Luke there, but my eyes widen when I saw the guy with dreads. He pulled him back and swings his skateboard at his face. The bald man fell to the ground, and I don't have time to see anything else, because I look up to the white haired man that I was still fighting off.

He went to grab my arm, but his own was pulled back. This time, it was Luke. He pulled the man off of me and pins him down swinging his fist punch after punch. The boy with dreads was just then finishing the white haired man's friend off.

I stand shaking, with my eyes still pouring.

Luke continued to brutally beat the man.

"Luke, stop!" I shrieked, not wanting to see any more blood than what I already had.

Suddenly his hands stopped, he looked up at me, studied me for a brief moment and slowly stood. He reached a hand out to me and I rejected it when I went for a hug. It wasn't even for comfort, it was just because I didn't want anyone to see me crying.

I sob onto his black t-shirt.

"Thanks man." Luke's voice says.

"No problem." A voice replies. "I have a little sister, I would hope someone would do the same for her."

"Thanks again." Luke sighs.

I gasp for air as I continue to sob on his shirt.
