You’re My Everlasting Light

Chapter 2

Niall loved girls.

He loved their long, slender legs.

Loved their sleek, thick hair.

He loved their long, skinny arms.

He loved their pursed pink lips, and their toothy white smile.

He loved their cute button noses, and how they would giggle when he kissed them.

He loved their big, bright eyes. And their long, plump eyelashes.

Niall just loved girls in general, and it was a good thing to love girls. It meant you were loyal, right? Niall craved love, he needed love. He wanted a nice girl to bring home to his mum, and make her happy. He wanted someone to bring home to his dad so he could make him proud. He wanted to see his friends smiling faces on his wedding day, and wanted someone to spend the rest of his life with.

And so far, that girl hadn’t come yet.

Niall stretched, and got up from his queen sized bed. Today was a Sunday, and there wasn’t much to do on Sundays.

Niall slipped on some grey skinny jeans, and a dark purple V-Neck that was tight, and hugged his abs.

He always liked to look good, because you never know who you’re going to have to impress.

But as Niall planned his day, he decided the only person he was going to be impressing today was his new boss. Liam Payne.

Niall had scheduled a job audition today at a local bakery down the street. Niall was desperate for a job, and even though a baker wasn’t the coolest job, it would get him money. And that’s exactly what he needed.

Niall jumped into his Mini Cooper, pulling on his seat belt and beginning to drive. He clicked the radio and the song ‘James (Never Change)’ starting blaring through his speakers. He hummed along lightly, smiling at the song. This James guy sounded great. I mean… if he was a girl? Yeah, of course.

Soon enough, Niall pulled up in front of the small building, eyeing the sign ‘Help Wanted’ as if it were his enemy.

Hopefully help wouldn’t be wanted soon.

“Great! So, could you start tomorrow? Say around… 6:00AM?”

Niall’s new boss Liam questioned, smiling lightly at him. He nodded, smiling like a fool. “Absolutely! This is fantastic! Thanks so much, sir.” Niall said, offering his hand to Liam.

“Please Niall, don’t call me sir. I’m the same age as you; I’m not your granddad.” Liam joked, making Niall laugh sweetly.

“Of course Liam! See you on Monday, dude?” Niall questioned, raising an eyebrow at him.

“Well… It’s better than sir. So see you then, dude.” Liam said, smiling sincerely at him.

Niall chuckled, waving and then exiting the room.

He walked out of the small bakery door, with a large smirk on his face.

Finally, Niall felt a lot better. For some reason he always felt pathetic without a job.  Like he was useless.

Well not anymore.

Niall threw on his apron, still smiling widely. Today was his first day of work, and he was excited.
