I knew he couldn't hurt me.

"You trust me."

"I promised I would."

"Guess I chose the right one then, didn't I?"

"Yeah. Guess you did."

I looked down at the ground again, a habit I had made over the time I was dating Beau when I didn't know what to say. When I held my head up, I noticed Beau on the phone. He hung up quickly then looked at me.

"I have to go."

He muttered under his breath.

"What's wrong?"

"I'll talk to you later okay? I love you."

He walked away before I got a chance to reply. Then as he was down the street, he started sprinting.

I started walked home. Alone. Something I was used to by now. I was overly stressed about Beau. Something could be wrong and he wouldn't tell me. So when I started walking home, I went back. And I did my best to follow where Beau went. Where I was going, turned into a dim alley where several people pushed someone, who seemed like he had no energy to throw punches anymore, against the wall and onto the floor.

"Where's my money Brooks? Where's my fucking money?!?"

After listening closely that's all I could hear. I replayed it over and over again.

Where's my money Brooks. Brooks.

Holy shit they were talking about Beau.

I ran over to them. I feared them hurting me, but I cared way to much about Beau to let them hurt him even more, or even worse. Kill him.

"Stop it." I interrupted between the group and Beau, who was now on the floor.

"Victoria."

I looked down and I saw Beau on the floor. His face, bruised. The man pushed me against the wall hard. And my forehead started bleeding non-stop . Tears rolled down my cheeks quickly as I held his hand.

"So you know him don't you?"

I turned to the man that had made the first gunshots I heard. The ones at the park.

"Nice to see you again."

I slowly inhaled, controlling my breathing.

"Please leave him alone. Please." I had tears prolifically running down my cheeks, wishing I knew what to do to make everything stop. I looked at Beau. Waiting for some advice to repeat itself in my head. Grab the gun and shoot. Just shoot.

I followed the voice and I reached for it. But he must've known what I was thinking and pulled back.

"Uh-uh-uh. Now your boyfriend's really in trouble."

Everything spun. I looked around and realized there was no way of saving, no way of getting help, no way of safety. We were done. I held his hand tighter than I ever had before.

"I love you."

Beau had a single tear rolling down his face as he said it. He looked me in the eyes and got up.

"Do it Brooks."

Beau took the gun and pointed it at me. Everything was blurry to me and I was made of nothing but fear. I was numb with confusion.

"Beau what are you doing?"

I questioned, gasping for air and struggling to get up. I shook as if it were extremely cold outside, even though it wasnt. It was out of the incredible emotion of fear I never lacked.

"I told you you shouldn't trust me. I could hurt you at any moment. And no one would be here to stop me. You already know about this little killing circle. "

"Beau please."

I backed up more against the wall. I had nowhere to go.

"Fucking do it!"

He looked me in the eyes and put his pointer finger on the trigger. And pulled it.
