I was at his house on the couch talking to him about music when his phone rang.

"I'll be right back." he went outside the door.

It reminded me of our first date. When he declined the call. I never found out who it was. I wonder who's calling him this late.

"Fuck man I dont want to do this anymore! I didn't do anything. It was Brooks. Not me." I could hear yelling from the window. Brooks? What if he knew the guys that hurt me last time? Was he affiliated with them?

Then I heard racing on the pavement. Michael ran through the door and locked it, then turned out the lights. He picked me up and carried me upstairs into his closet and we sat there.

"Michael what's going on?" I said breathing hard, knowing he had gotten into some form of trouble.

"Babe I'm sorry." He apologized looking down.

"Michael tell me what's happening."

I intertwined my fingers with his and squeezed tightly. With a loud and heavy sigh, he told me

"I had this friend. Beau Brooks. He borrowed money from a gang indirectly and when he couldn't pay them back. He blamed it on me. I've been trying to get rid of them but they won't leave me alone. I've tried everything but they just won't stop making threats. And now they're trying to threaten that they're gonna hurt you and it scares me. If I lose you I lose myself. I know you have bad anxiety and you worry too much, that's why I get scared to tell you these things. I don't want to scare you."

"It'll be okay." I ignored the fact that Beau was involved. All that mattered was that Michael would be okay.

We heard violent knocks at the door until the hinges busted off.

"Michael I'm scared." I held him tight, tears coming out slowly.

"I won't let anyone hurt you."

I admired Michael Clifford. He was like a second best friend. He took care of me like James did and he never let anything hurt me or even try.

"Michael I hear them make it stop" I cried onto his shoulder, fearing he'd get hurt.

He reached to the side of the closet to pull out a gun.

I shook and let go of him.

"No no baby don't be scared of me I'll never hurt you. I don't want him to get near you okay. I'm here to protect you."

"I don't like guns Michael. Please don't let them hurt you. We need to call the police." I held back my hysteric crying to listen around the house.

"If we call, they'll get more people to take care of me.. I'm not risking more people that can possibly hurt you,"

"Michael I hear them." I shook holding him and kissing his face frantically.

"I love you, I love you, I love you." I kept whispering as I kissed him.

"I love you more okay, I won't leave you alone baby, we'll be fine." he wrapped his arms around me as we heard the room door open. I heard a familiar voice.

"Where the fuck are you Clifford?"
Beau.

We were in a rather large walk in closet that had a storage closet within it.

I was crying lightly as Michael began starting a normal conversation with me as if everything was okay. I could see how hard he was trying to make me feel safe. But deep down, I knew we weren't.
