Loki's POV

I hold my hand out to the violet eyed girl before me. The shackle was easy to remove but seeing the scars left behind makes me wonder how long it had been on.

I wait patiently for her to take my offered assistance, studying her features as I do.
I had noticed her unusual eyes the moment I entered the room, they captivated me and I hadn't been able to look away. Now I took the time to take in the rest of her. She has long silvery hair, slightly wavy despite the fact that it reaches almost to her waist. Her lips are full with a natural pink tint to them, resting under a delicate button nose. Dark thick lashes frame her unique amethyst coloured eyes which I realize contain small  flecks of silver reminding me more of the purple gem.

I feel her delicate hand grasp mine and I gently pull her up, she seems too fragile compared to me and I would not wish to hurt her.

Natasha suddenly bolts up a moment before the female in front of me collapses, I quickly catch her before she can fall and hurt herself.

"What did you do?!"

I whip my head to face Natasha's angry accusation, slightly hurt by the fact she thinks I may have done this.

"I did not do anything."

The words leave my mouth with a hiss. She just gives me a look like she doesn't believe me and calls Clint in.

"Can you carry her to the quinjet? We need to get her back to the tower as soon as possible, I'll fill everyone in on what I found out about her on the way back."

I glare slightly at Clint as he takes the girl from me, but do nothing to stop him. Why do I feel so possessive of her? I ponder the thought as we return to the jet, the rest of the Avengers are already there.

Third person POV

During the ride back to the tower, Natasha relayed to the team in on the knowledge she had gained on the girl from talking to her.

"I wasn't able to get any real information out of her but I did find out one thing," Natasha pauses, quickly glancing around at everyone before continuing.

"She's mute."

Everyone just stared, brains processing this information.

"So," Bruce is the first to speak, "she is completely unable to vocalize?"

"I'm not entirely sure, though I suspect that's the case. I wonder if she was born that way or if Hydra did something to her that caused it." Natasha wonders out loud.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Hydra was behind it." Tony glances over at the unconscious girl. "I wonder what's so special about her?"

"Were you able to locate any files that could help us?" Steve looks at Tony, as it was his job to hack into the system.

"There wasn't too much info, it looked like they tried to wipe everything before leaving. Fortunately, I was able to recover a couple of things." Tony pulls up some files on his phone, quickly scanning through them. "There's only really one thing here that's of any interest though, it's labeled 'project jewel.'"

He turns the screen to show everyone. "Looks like we have a telekinetic."

The plane goes silent as everyone observes the sleeping girl with wonder and apprehension. Nobody speaks when they finally touch down at the tower, returning with one more member than they had left with.
