Loki's POV

I have been avoiding the girl since we returned from the mission, I disliked the way she made me feel and I needed time to think about it. Now Banner is calling everyone down to the room because she may be waking up, I feel the need to make sure she is okay.

~~~
Everyone is assembled by the window to her room when I arrive, yet she is nowhere in sight.
"... Where's the girl?"
I just catch the last part of Barton's outburst, I'm wondering the same thing. There is no way she could have escaped with how secure the room is, especially with all the extra security measures Stark put in place.
"Just take a look at this."
Banner directs everyone's attention to the computer monitor hooked up to the cameras in the room, the girl clearly visible with her hand pressed to the window right in front of us. Looking through it shows no signs of her though, Interesting.
There is a moment of silence before Stark speaks; "So she can turn invisible to people but not to tech? Wait one second, I have to try something!"
Everyone continues to watch the screen in silence as he leaves the room, I'm trying to figure out how the girl is doing this, it is unlike anything I have seen before in my life.
Stark returns quickly, ridiculous helmet on his head. He looks through the window the moment he is in the room.
"I can see her, she's right here!"
I watch the monitor as she turns her head, almost as if in response to Stark's comment. But she should not be able to hear us, I had a spell on the room to ensure it.
"Whoa, she's looking right at me. It's almost like she can see me!"
"She can't see you, Tony, don't be ridiculous." Romanoff is quick to say, and I silently agree with her, still observing the footage of the girl.
"You don't believe me? You try it!"
Stark takes off the helmet, handing it to Romanoff as she replies.
"Fine, but only because I wish to see she is here myself, and not from a security camera."
Banner, Barton and Rogers are all watching the screen with me, curiosity about the girl making it impossible to look away.
"Weird, it's like something in our heads is causing us to miss her."
It takes me by surprise to see the girl turn her head sharply in response to Romanoff's statement, clearly doing the same to her as she makes a sound like she's choking before regaining her composure. Her next words sound slightly uncertain.
"This room is soundproof, correct?"
Stark answers, taking his helmet back. "Yes, we made sure that someone inside wouldn't be able to hear anything going on outside, she shouldn't be able to hear anything except for the machines in the room."
I interrupt, deciding to inform them of my spell and the interesting fact that it isn't functioning as it should for the girl.
"I took the time and effort to place a silencing shield around the room as well, but it does not seem to be working. Curious."
Everyone looks at me before our attention is drawn back to the window, where the girl is now visible. I watch her fall onto her knees and I quickly enter the room, something about her is compelling me to help. I catch her as she falls unconscious again, lifting her up to place her back on the bed.
Banner swiftly reattaches the wires and IV, worry etching lines onto his face as he works. I stand in the corner, observing the machines now recording her vitals with irritating whirring and beeping. I feel a strange connection to the small female in the bed and the feeling unnerves me.
The silence in the room is deafening, broken only by the sounds from the machines.
Stark is the one to finally speak.
"Well, we just can't keep calling her 'the girl'. We need to give her a name."
"Jewel"
I surprise myself by speaking, but I don't take back what I said. The girl is special, precious, like a gemstone, and her eyes resemble jewels.
I feel everyone's eyes on me as I am still looking at the figure in the bed.
"Does anyone object?"
Stark is the first to regain his composure after the shock of hearing me say something without sarcasm or malice.
No one else says anything, Banner is checking over all the machines and the girl, Jewel.
"She seems perfectly fine, nothing wrong with any of her vitals and her levels are all normal, seems like she was just out of energy. Don't know why though."
"She freaked out when she woke up, it might be a good idea if someone is in the room when she wakes up again."
Rogers directs his comment to Romanoff, since she was the one to find and calm Jewel down in the facility.
"I will stay, the rest of you should leave though, you might frighten her again, not to mention overwhelm her with the questions I know you have."
At that everyone leaves, Banner is going to stay and monitor from outside, the others going back to going their own thing. I wait a moment after Rogers is out the door, taking one last look at the sleeping female.
"You care about her, yet you don't even know her."
I glare at Romanoff, spitting out my response.
"You know nothing about me."
With that I teleport to my room, not interested in running into anyone on the way if I were to walk.
Why does this insignificant girl affect me this way?
I reflect on the question as I open my book. I do not care for the things I am feeling.
Question: what is your favorite Marvel movie?
Mine is, hands down, Ragnarok. Favorite moments are 'get help' and Thor telling the story of when Loki turned into a snake to stab him.
