I don't think I can be your friend,
I don't want to try.
I don't think I can be your friend.
Cause we would be living a lie;
A life of pretend; fake feelings, fake laughter, fake enthusiasm.
I can't be happy for you,
I can't be your cheerleader.
I can't be there for you,
I can't be your supporting shoulder
I won't be the one you confide in.
Not after where we've been.
I won't be the one you come back to,
When the world have been cruel to you.
The line we shouldn't have crossed,
We straight up dissipate.
So in our ability to be just friends,
I have no faith.
We should have left it at acquaintance,
Refrain from taking that chance.
Disregard that first glance.
Now you're asking too much of me,
I can't just be friends and let my feelings be.
