As the sun rose up in the morning Echo woke up to the sound of screaming. Alarmed he jumped out of bed and ran outside his room as quickly as he could.

"Oh sorry! I was watching a horror movie," Isabel said laughing.

Echo just looked at her and sighed, "where did you get that movie anyway?"

"I used some of our glimmer to buy it from a merchant last night I hope you don't mind." Isabel happily replied.

"Just ask me first next time okay? But anyway let's get going, we have to go pick them up at the tower."

"Oh it's morning already! Well hurry up then we'll be late!" Isabel said flying around Echo.

After a quick morning routine Echo left his apartment and walked down the city street towards the tower. He found Iris and Alderam in the tower's courtyard, they had just gotten back from a patrol in the cosmodrome, Echo waved at them and they walked over to him. "What were you guys up to so early today?"

"Well Alderam and I just wanted to get some better gear before we went to Venus." Iris answered.

"Y-Yeah sorry if we were late, we got a little caught up with some fallen." Alderam was still just a little nervous talking to Echo.

Echo was a little surprised that they had already started to go on patrols without him but also a little proud they made it back with no real issues.
"Don't worry about it Alderam it's alright, and good job. To the both of you, just let me know next time."

Iris and Alderam got a little embarrassed for a second not expecting the praise. "Y-Yes sir!" They said in unison.

"Oh they grow up so fast!" Isabel sounded like she was about to cry.

After the slightly more emotional moment for some, they all headed to the hanger and transmatted into Echo's ship.

"Hey if you guys keep doing more patrols you can save up some glimmer and get your ships!" Echo thought to himself for a moment, "wait how did you guys get to the cosmodrome anyway?"

"Isabel let us use your ship." Iris said

"What!?" Echo turned to Isabel who quickly disappeared the moment Echo looked at her, "Oh we're talking about this later." Echo muttered.

Echo started the ship up after getting cleared for his departure to Venus, the ship flew out of the hangar and blasted off into the clouds. As they left Earth's atmosphere Iris and Alderam were amazed at the sight of the planet. They could even see the moon as they got farther from Earth. Although something looked off about it, it appeared to have a large crack in it. Iris interest in it grew even more, but before she could ask any questions the ship jumped to light speed tearing the moon from her sight. Alderam stood quietly admiring the streaks of  colors flying by them, suddenly the ship dropped out of light speed travel and Venus bursted into view. Echo's ship descended from the rain clouds in Venus's sky and carefully landed on its surface.

"Alright guys we're here." Echo started to power down the ship and opened up the ships doors, "Go take a look!"

Alderam and Iris stepped off the ship in awe of the beauty of the planet. But looming overhead was a strange structure in the sky that towered over everything, it seemed almost mechanical.

Echo interrupted their curiosity, "Alright you two let's get moving!" Echo walked past them down a path leading away from the towering structure, to Alderam and Iris's dismay. Instead they soon came across an old city on a Shattered coast. Right before they entered Echo put his hand up motioning for them to stop. "You two get to cover okay, just watch me and take some notes."

Confused they both did as Echo told them. Getting behind some rocks and watched him walk into the city, suddenly fallen pirates moved in from all around him. Alderam stood up quickly, "Iris let's go we need to go help him!" But Iris stopped him having faith in her teacher. She quietly shook her head and motioned for him to get back down which he did reluctantly.

Echo stood quietly as the fallen quickly surrounded him.

"How many?" He whispered to Isabel.

"Eighteen," she said.

Echo suddenly threw down a scatter grenade killing four of the fallen shanks. The pirates began to fire on him and he took cover by an old rusted car. Taking his gun out of his holster he ran out of cover and killed eight of them in an instant ether spilling out from their heads. The remaining fallen charged him, quickly he holstered his weapon and took out his knife. He slit the throats of two dregs approaching him, and kicked a vandal to the ground. As another came up from behind him and grabbed him, he delivered a quick elbow to its stomach freeing himself and drove his knife into its skull. Before the other vandal could get to its feet Echo threw his knife at its head killing it right there. Leaving only a captain and a single dreg left, without hesitation the captain shot at him causing him to hide in cover once more. Little did the captain know he had just sealed his fate, Echo quickly reloaded his hand cannon and jumped out of cover unloading the entire magazine into the captain. Echo stood proudly over his victory, "and that makes eighteen," he muttered to himself.

"You missed one," Isabel chimed in ruining his moment.

"What, no I didn't?"

"Look to your right."

Echo turned to see a dreg standing there in fear, but before Echo could react the dreg threw down his gun and ran away.
