Hayden decided to take us to some town. Supposable it's where my uncle lives. "Hayden, are we almost there?" I complain. "Better question why don't we travel there?"

"Yes were almost there," Hayden answers calmly, "and we didn't travel because no one there really likes DCs."

I watch as the sun starts rising over the horizon. The stars start disappearing showing the light blue sky. I see a town come into view and almost jump in excitement. "We're almost there," I say jumping up. Then I notice that the town is floating. "Why is it floating?"

"Because that's how most towns and cities are here," Hayden explains, "if it's not floating then it's probably a tribal grounds or full of people that want the higher families dead."
I look at the town again and see that all the buildings are made out of different material.
I watch the lights turn off and a road appear out of no where. "The road is there all the time it's just looks gone durning sunrise and sunset. We should get going to see your uncle now."

It took us about two hours to reach my uncle's house. People that were walking through the town kept giving us weird looks. I don't know why though. Hayden walks up to a dark looking building. All the windows are shuttered shut and no lights are on. "Is anyone even home?" Beckett asks suspiciously.

"There is your uncle is in there," Hayden replies quietly. He looks around and then looks back at the door. "Greg, it's me. I've got Beckett and Alessa with me, plus one more."

The door opens swiftly and we're all pulled in with the door closing behind us. The room is dark and all I see is a figure standing there. "I finally get to see my lovely niece and nephew," a voice says excitedly, "I'm your Uncle Greg from your fathers side of the family. It's great to finally meet you."

"Nice to meet you to?" I question. "Can you turn on the lights?"

"No," he replies instantly, "we can't let him know we're here."

"Who?" Grygh asks suspiciously.

"Your father," Greg spats, "If he finds us he's sure to kill us."

What is my Uncle even talking about? Turning on the lights is going to help a person that hides in the shadow not find us. How does that even work? "Excuse me, sir," Beckett states, "but why is Grygh's father out to kill us."

"Because we're travelers and have banished him to The Deathpit," Greg announces, "we can't let that happen."

"How does hiding in the shadows help us?" I ask.

"Because he can't see us in the light then he can't find us," Hayden explains, "With light there are shadows. Without the shadows he can't find us."

"That's all baloney," Beckett states, "hiding in the dark is going to kill."

"But.." Hayden starts but I interrupt by grabbing him. I watch as his face softens before he says something else. "I'm sorry."

"If he hides in the shadows and were surrounded by shadows he'll find us easier," Grygh explains. "He doesn't need light to see us."

The lights turn on as soon as Grygh finishes talking. I go blind for a few seconds. I see something fly through the room.  I feel the same dark presence I felt the night I met Grygh's father. I shiver at the thought of the night. "Alessa, are you okay?" my uncle asks. I look up and see he has the same brown hair and brown eyes my father has.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I answer quietly, "just a little tired."

"Well I'll take you to a guest bedroom," Hayden says, "but I'm going to have to leave after that."

"Good," I hear Grygh mumble.

I fall asleep as soon as I hit the bed not hearing what Hayden said to me.

I walk into to the kitchen to see my uncle making eggs. "Are those Fresh Energy Eggs?" I question excitedly.

"Yeah," my uncle replies, "I sneak to Careford every month and the eggs are about to go bad."

I grab a plate and start eating them. "These are amazing," I moan chewing more of the eggs. "What did you season them with?"

"A secret family recipe," my uncle responds, "Which I can't tell anyone."

"But I'm family," I whine, "Why can't I know?"

"Because I'm here," Hayden whispers in my ear causing a blush to creep up my neck. "He doesn't think we'll be together."

"This is so good," I moan again not paying attention to anything Hayden said.

My uncle puts another plate in front of me. Hayden snatches it away before I could eat anymore. "I don't think you need anymore of those, missy," Hayden states, sitting down next to me.

Beckett walks in and grabs a plate of eggs. "Becky, can I have another plate of eggs?" I whine to him.

"Yeah," Beckett replies raising an eyebrow at me, "Why wouldn't you?"

"Because these aren't normal eggs," Hayden explains, "they give a boast of energy to anyone that eats them."

Beckett walks over picks me up and sits where I was sitting. He sits me back down on his lap as Grygh walks in. "Morning," Grygh yawns, "It is morning right?"

"Yeah," Hayden replies, "You guys slept for three to four days."

"Wait are you serious!!" We all exclaim.

"Yeah," Hayden replies, "also, Alessa, your cute when your sleeping."

"You were watching my sister sleep?" Beckett growls.

"Ummm...no," Hayden lies.

"Your fucking watched my sister sleep," Beckett growls.

"Beckett, calm down," my uncle demands, "I asked him to give her more blankets. It's getting close to winter and the heating system doesn't work."

Beckett wraps his arms around me and pulls me close to him. "I"m going to die, aren't I?" i ask him.

"I don't know," he whispers back to me, "I hope you don't though. I don't know what I would do without you."

I feel tears wield up in my eyes and then the dark presence getting closer again. "Look who finally woke up," Mr. Colton voice echoes through the house. I freeze instantly at the sound of his voice. "Ohhh. I have an effect on her."

"How'd you get in here?" Hayden demands.

"Well Greg over here likes to keep his house pitch black," Mr. Colton explains, "with doing so he made it so I could enter anywhere in the house. The shadows were everywhere. Entering here was easy."

"What do you want?" my uncle growls.

"I want to kill Alessa," he whispers pulling out a gun. "So I'm going to do it."

I stand up and face him. I hear the trigger of the gun pulled and the bullet whistling in the air heading towards me.
