Going back to school was hell. Sure I had a week off but still bing gone that long meant make-up work. It also doesn't help that my arms and body are covered in bruises. My arms are hurting and I swear that something is broken. Plus Grygh might be there. I can't see him. Not yet. He might of almost killed me two days ago but still it's fresh in my memory.
I might forgive him one day but it won't be any day soon. I'm pretty sure that Alison is pissed off with me. I haven't spoke to her in days and it's my fault that her party was crashed.
****Time Skip*****
"I think we're going to win the game this time!!" Zake exclaims.
"You guys always win," I mumble poking at my food.
Why does school food suck so bad? I flip a pea on my fork and it shots at Colton. The pea hits him square in the for head. "Alessa," he growls.
"Yes," I answer sweetly giving him the best puppy eyes I could handle.
"Eat," I whispers lowly as anger flashes through his eyes, "or else."
"Whatcha gonna do about it?" I whisper quietly, knowing that I'm pushing his buttons. "It's not like your my mother or father."
"I'm pretty much am," he replies. I feel the pain spread through my body as I remember my parents leaving. I shouldn't have ever brought that up. I feel the tears start stinging my eyes. I try to wield them back but a few of them slip. "Alessa, I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that."
"It's fine," I whisper pulling my tray off the table and start walking away. "I'm fine."
I turn around and run into someone's chest. I look up and see familiar grey-blue eyes staring back at me. I start backing up. "Alessa," he whispers.
"No, go away, please," I plead quietly.
"Alessa, please listen to me first," he whispers taking a step closer to me.
I can't do this. I can't talk to him. I'm still in to much pain from him. My arms were just starting to heal. "No," I whisper even quieter, "I can't."
"Back away from her," Jake demands from behind me.
"I just want to talk to her," Grygh whispers in response. Anger slowly fills his eyes. "I need to talk to her."
"She said no," Jake growls, "so back away from her." Jake pulls me closer to him as Grygh takes another step forward. "Alessa, get out of here."
"Think, Alessa," I whisper, "where do I go? Where do I go?" Then it hits me. The only person that has ever been able to stop Grygh, Holen. "I'm going to Holen," I yell looking Grygh directly in the eyes, "and follow me if you want."
"Alessa, don't you dare," Jake growls as I shove him away from me. "Colton and your brother are going to kill you."
I travel to where Holen is. I look around and see the DC's training room. "What in the hell are you doing here?" Holen demands as I hide behind him. The door to the elevator opens and a very angry Grygh walks in. "Oh shit."
I look around and see the other DC's still training. I look around and see an open DC who's not doing anything. I travel over to where he is and his face turns to confusion. "Who the hell are you?" he demands, "and why don't you have an Aurora."
"Does it really matter?" I question, "Just fight me."
"You're not even trained," he replies looking at me suspiciously. I throw a punch at him and see anger flash through his eyes. He travels and then shows up behind me. I duck as I here his fist fly through the air. I look over and see Grygh eyeing the room looking for me. The ringing starts in my ear and I fall to the ground. "What the hell is going on?"
"Make it stop," I whisper feeling the blood start dripping out of my nose. "Make it stop."
"Oh fucking god," the boy gasps, "you're Alessa Nealen. Oh shit."
"Grygh," I scream as I feel myself fading.
Grygh finally spots me and he rushes over. He pulls something out of his pockets and tries to put it in my arm. "Oh god," he whispers, "I can't do it. You're to far gone. You need to do it yourself."
I look up at him and grab his arm causing him to start to fade away with me. His shaking gets worse, but he finally stabs the syringe in my arm causing us to go back to reality. Anger fills his eyes again he reaches out to grab me.
I look at him and pull myself back. I pull as much strength that I have left and think of Beckett. He's standing on the football field with all the other boys surrounding him. He's just now getting ready to start practice. I feel the air around me change and the light gets brighter.
I feel the grass of the field under me and the heat of the sun hitting me. I hear Coach Jensan blow the whistle causing the boys stop. My vision gets blurry and my head starts to fell dizzy. "Miss Nealen, how are you on my field and what are you doing here?" Coach Jensan demands.
"Beckett," I whisper as I try to focus my vision. "I need Beckett or Colton."
"Mr. Nealen and Mr. Linen get her off my field now," Coach yells.
Beckett and Colton run over to me. Both of their eyes filled with worry. "You guys need to teach me how to punch," I grumble as Beckett grabs my arm, "I really do suck at throwing one."
"Stop messing around," Colton growls, "You've been gone for three hours."
"Sorry," I whisper feeling my throat go dry.
"We're calling mom and dad and that's final," Beckett whispers.
"No, please don't," I beg feeling tears fill my eyes. I can't face them. They hate me. "They hate me."
"Alessa, we need to know the truth about this," Beckett whispers. His eyes pleading me to agree. "We need to know why you're born with these. Why people want you dead? Why you're fucking connected to a nonexistent dimension?"
"It's because of Dad," I whisper, "at least that is what I was told."
"We are calling them," Beckett says, "and that's final." He pulls out a dials the one number I hate. Mom's. "Here goes nothing."
I listen to it ring a few times before she answers, "Hello, what do you want."
"Alessa, is a DC," Beckett whispers.
The next thing I hear is a loud bang and then dad cursing, "SHIT. We'll be there as soon as I can."
