~ E L E A N O R ~
Now that Louis and I had "come clean" about our past and failed love life's, I felt more relatable to him in a way, or connected. As a friend of course. As we boarded our jet, I couldn't get my mind off of him and Danielle. I put the two and two together with what I saw at the wedding.
She does look like a player. It was all over her face.
"So why did we have to go home?" I asked him as we sat down in two seats across from each other.
"Some issues with work." He said and drank the ice cold water placed in front of him by a flight attendant.
I didn't think much of it but I had to do a double take when I noticed the way she was looking at him, and her smile. . . I began to glare at her, doesn't she know I'm sitting right here.
"If you should need anything at all, please let me know." She said leaning down to show off a little too much cleavage. I rolled my eyes.
"Ahem, I'm thirsty as well." I said annoyed that she only brought a water for him.
He smile faded when she looked to me. "Of course."
"Hurry, I'm parched." I snapped, and Louis gave me am impressed grin.
"Yes ma'am." She said through gritted teeth.
"It's Mrs. Tomlinson to you." I said sassily and smiled. Damn I was having too much fun with this.
She gave a fake smile and walked away. I looked at Louis who was grinning and laughing a little.
"Wow, just couldn't hide your jealousy huh." He said cockily wiggling his eyebrows smiling.
"Just playing the part of the wife." I winked and he chuckled shaking his head.
I got major satisfaction out of her bringing me the water and making her call me Mrs. Tomlinson. Once we were smooth sailing in the air, Louis and I moved to the couch where I could comfortably lay my legs out.
"So what's going on with the company?" I asked.
"Why do you care?" He asked amused looking at his laptop.
I shrugged. "I don't know, don't wives usually listen to their husbands talk about work but never really understand a word?" I guessed.
"Well it's not so much a complication with work, more with someone who works for me." He said, his eyes on the laptop.
"Who?"
"One of my body guards passed away." He said like it was nothing but I sat up straight and my jaw dropped.
"What? Oh my goodness, that's terrible! What happened?" I asked sadly, and he chuckled at me.
"Didn't know you would care so much." He teased and I gave him a disapproving look.
"Louis, someone's died, you shouldn't be treating it so lightly." I said scoldingly.
"He slept with Danielle too, so I'm not too sad. He was drunk driving on a night off. That's his fault. He used to be a good guy though." He said, and I frowned.
"Well whether he slept with Danielle or not, I'm still sorry to hear that." I said and got comfortable on the couch again.
"We have to go to his funeral, so that's why we're going back early. It looks bad if I'm not present." He said like something was bothering.
I could only guess why.
"I'm sure Danielle will be there." I said, and he nodded his head.
"Most likely."
I sighed and looked at the ceiling of the plane. Well that must suck for him. As serious and mean as Louis seems, he does smile and he's nice sometimes. He loved her so I could only imagine how many times he smiled and laughed with her. It must kill him inside. I believe she really missed out on a good guy. Her loss.
A while later, I woke up to Louis poking my arm.
"Eleanor. . .Eleanor wake up. We're in London already." I heard Louis's voice.
I began to slowly open my eyes, my vision hazy and my head feeling heavy. It had been so long I fell asleep and didn't realize my head dropped on Louis's shoulder. How long had I been that way? He let me use his shoulder?
"Already?" I said and stretched.
"Yes, come on. Paparazzi are outside already waiting. Look alive." He said and we stood up.
Great. My hair was probably messy and my face was for sure puffy from sleeping. How was I supposed to look alive when I was still half asleep.
It was already dark out and as soon as Louis stepped out of the jet first, the paparazzi started shouting questions and flashing lights were everywhere.
I was still half asleep so the bright lights from the cameras was beginning to make me dizzy, and giving me a headache.
"Why are you back from your honeymoon so soon?!"
"Trouble in paradise already?!"
"Is this marriage real!"
"Is it true you married for money!"
I ignored their yelling the same way Louis did and continued to walk with him. I held the sweater I had in close to me, the cold wind hitting my face hard making my eyes watery and dry. It was a chilly night in London, wow.
Louis noticed and took off his coat, wrapping it around me. The paps ate it up and began taking more pictures of the kind gesture.
"Thank you." I mumbled. Whether he did it or not for the cameras I was thankful. I'm freezing.
He nodded his head. My head began to feel heavy again and my eyes were hurting, I just wanted to close them. Without thinking, I leaned into Louis's side and hid my face in his arm. I could feel his body stiffen but after a second, he moved his arm to wrap it around me so I could put my face in his chest. I'll admit the gesture gave me butterflies but later we could use the excuse of paparazzi.
The paps snapped pictures of Louis holding me as we walked in the airport until we were out of their sight. The whole time I took in the strong scent of his cologne. It was heavenly not going to lie.
Once we got inside, I pulled away and yawned rubbing my eyes. He cleared his throat all awkward and unsure of what to say.
"Sorry, I was cold and my eyes were hurting from all the flashing." I said, telling him why I hid my face in his arm at first.
"You looked like you needed it. Plus the paps went crazy for it, and I'm sure it'll make our parents happy." He said and shrugged it off. I nodded my head.
"Home?" I asked just wanting to go to bed.
"Home." He said and we began to walk to the car waiting out front of the airport for us.
Once we got in the car, I didn't hesitate to fall asleep again and used his shoulder as a pillow. As I started to fall asleep again, I could feel him move the sweater on me so it covered me more. I wanted to smile but I was too deep into sleep at that point.
