I let out a large sigh of boredom and let the voice of the speaker in the conference zone out as I stared at the city of Miami beginning to light up at night. I felt bad for leaving Eleanor alone all day but I did tell her this was going to a business trip, not to mention she's still upset with me. I think it's me at least.
I checked the watch on my wrist and saw it read 9 already. I scoffed.
"Shall we head over?" The speaker asked and all the gentlemen in the room stood.
"Where are we going?"
"To the club to get a first look at it. We're going to see what people like here so we draw more people in." The man said.
"I trust your judgement, but I really have to head back to my hotel. I've brought my wife—"
"Classic Louis, thinking of this as vacation instead of business. And this is the man you all picked to be the head of this project?" Josh asked the group, causing whispers and small talk. I rolled my eyes.
"They didn't pick me, the company is basically mine and you still work for me so keep your mouth shut if you wanna keep moving up." I warned him, and his face went cold.
The group broke apart and started taking the elevators down, and my phone began to ring. I rolled my eyes and prepared myself for the headache my father was about to give me.
"Hello?"
"What's this I hear about you not going to look at a club? Have you lost your damn mind?! These people are depending on you and looking up to you Louis!! This is your job!! You are their boss!! Maybe I should give this position to someone else!!! I don't care if you are my son—!!"
"I'm going!!" I yelled into my phone to get him to shut up. He cursed at me a bit more and hung up.
Fucking Josh must've called him. Eleanor will probably be pissed at me. When I got to the lobby of the building, I got into one of the cars. Josh looked to me with a smirk.
"Oh, joining us after all?" He asked in a sarcastic tone.
"Yes." I hissed.
"How's your wife? She wouldn't like to join us?" He asked and I looked to him with anger the second he mentioned my wife's name.
"Easy gentlemen." Our coworker Ryan said trying to calm us down.
We finally got to the club, and were immediately let in the second I showed them who I was. We passed the long line of people waiting to get in and were instantly met with neon lights, Latin music, and people dancing everywhere. Latin wasn't too popular in London, but here in Miami or America in general it is.
"Drinks boys?" Another coworker asked and the group went to the bar getting free drinks of course.
Josh began talking to a lady with curly brown hair, and a tight red dress on. I rolled my eyes and scanned the room trying to get some intake for future clubs.
I did a double take when I saw a familiar face for a split second.
Eleanor?
I checked my watch and saw it was now about to be 10. I lost the girl that looked like her and began to push the crowd where she was. I got closer and she turned around fully and it wasn't her. My shoulders fell and and I backed up again.
Great now I'm seeing her in every girl.
Oh shit.
I turned to see her dancing and swinging her hips to the beat of the song, in a tight black dress much too short for my liking. Her brown waves bounced around her face as she moved, and her hands were up in the air. Was she dancing by herself?
