Our Bumpy Road (Albus Potter x Reader)

Ch. 3: Arriving at Hogwarts

When you woke up that morning, at first you wanted nothing more than to go back to sleep. But then you remembered that today was September the first.

You bolted out of bed and threw your clothes on hastily. You had your trunk packed already and had triple checked everything on the school supplies list. Your parents let you get an owl because you could right them letters. You decided to name him/her o/n.

You went down to breakfast before anyone was up. Lilian was surprisingly still giving Dillan the silent treatment. When it was 10:00 you all side apparated to Platform 9 3/4.

When you saw the beautiful Hogwarts Express you did the only thing you could think of: you stood gaping at it.

"Pretty amazing isn't it sis?" Dillan said walking up beside you.

"It really is." You replied.

"We better get going, the train leaves at exactly 11:00." He says making his way towards the train.

"What about mum and dad?" you ask him.

"They already left." He replies.

Before you could respond he already disappeared, probably to go with his other third year friends.

You start walking around the compartments trying to find an empty one when you come across someone you never wanted to see.

~Albus POV~

Rose, Scorpius, and I were in our compartment when a girl with y/h/c walks in. I knew immediately who it was and she obviously knew who I was too.

She stood there frozen with wide eyes looking at me with terror.

"I'm sorry..I-I'll just go..." she said in a small voice before running away.

Rose and Scorpius both looked at me before advancing on me.

"What was that about?" Rose asked me.

"Yeah, she looked terrified of you mate." Scorpius added.

"I-I...well..." I wasn't sure how to tell them who she was. Scorpius knew about the girl he just didn't know that was her. And if Rose found out she'd make me go apologize right away.

"Is she the girl you were telling me about?" Scorpius asks.

"Yeah." I reply.

"What do you mean? You already know her?" Rose asks.

I didn't want to tell Rose because I was already nervous enough about the sorting I didn't want her nagging me on top of that.

Sadly, Scorpius decided to tell Rose the whole story. When he was done Rose turned on me.

"Albus Severus Potter!" She said harshly. "You're telling me you yelled at the poor girl when she didn't do anything wrong?"

"Can you just not nag me right now?!" I ask her. "I'm already worried enough I don't need you on top of that."

-Time Skip-

~Your POV~

You had managed to find an empty compartment with only one other girl. She seemed nice and you stuck next to her until you had to line up for the sorting.

"Malfoy, Scorpius." McGonagall said.

She places the hat on his head until the hat shouted, "SLYTHERIN!"

"Potter, Albus" McGonagall said.

The hat sat on his head for a good ten minutes before it shouted, "SLYTHERIN!"

Maybe that's why he was so cold to you the day you met him you thought.

"Weasley, Rose" McGonagall said.

That was the girl who was with Albus you thought. Maybe she'll get into Slytherin to with her friends.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

"L/n, Y/n" McGonagall said.

The hat was placed on your head and with out a second thought, the hat shouted, "GRYFFINDOR!"

You were excited to be in Gryffindor because that's where your brother was. You had asked him what house he was in earlier but he refused to tell you. However, your parents had told you when he wasn't around. You got off the stool and went to go and sit next to Rose.

"Hello, I'm Rose Weasley." She introduced herself.

You were a little hesitant at first because she was friends with the boy that snapped at you. She sensed this and added, "Don't worry, I'm not like Albus. I won't snap at you."

You were confused as to why she knew this but you shook her hand and replied,

"Y/n, Y/n L/n."

"Well Y/n, I have a feeling we will be good friends." She said.
