Ch. 13: The Start of Christmas Break

Being friends with the Slytherins was surprisingly fun. Plus you found out you have every class with at least one of them if not more.

You hadn't spoken to anyone else except for Scorpius. Your conversation was mainly boring however he told you Rose and him had broken up. Also by reading in between the lines you assumed Scorpius was not on speaking terms with Albus either. This however, confused you. You didn't say anything about it though because you didn't want to think about any of them.

You sat at the Slytherin table everyday now and only slept in your dorm when you weren't having a sleepover with Sarah and Charlotte.

Things couldn't have been worse between you, Al, Rose, and Scorpius to say he least. That's why you were thankful that Christmas holidays were coming up.

From what your heard, neither Rose nor Scorpius were staying at Hogwarts. Your brother and sister were going home but you decided you wanted to stay. It was your first time staying so you were thankful at least one of your new friends were staying. Sarah, Charlotte, and Gunner were all going home so you were going to stick with David.

You thought it might be a little weird since you had never been one on one with him but hoped it wouldn't.

You were in front of the Hogwarts Express saying goodbye to your siblings and friends.

"I'll see you guys once you get back." You said to Sarah, Charlotte, and Gunner.

"Promise to write. It's going to be so boring at home." Gunner said.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you can find a boyfriend or something while your bored." You said making him slightly blush.

You finish saying your goodbyes and head back to the castle with David. You don't speak the whole way there, but the silence is comfortable.

When you get back to the Slytherin common room, you both sit on one of the couches.

"It's so weird not having Sarah, Charlotte, and Gunner around." You say.

"You do realize it's only been 10 minutes since we've seen them." He replies.

"Yeah, but it feels like an eternity." You say slightly chuckling.

You sit watching the fireplace and start to get lost in your thoughts when David pulls you out of them.

"I'm bored." He states.

"Me too." You say.

"Do you want to go to my dorm room and play some games?" He asks you.

"Sure, it's not like I have anything better to do." You reply.

You both walk up to his dorm room and see that no one is in there. He closes the door behind you and goes to his trunk to find a game to play.

"Ugh, I just remembered Gunner stole my cards the other day and didn't give them back." He says frustrated.

"It's okay, we could play the.... get to know you game." You say.

"The get to know you game?" He asks.

"Yeah, you get to ask the other person any question you want." You explain.

"Okay then, what's you favorite color?" He asks you.

"Y/f/c." You state without any hesitation. "What's yours?" You ask.

"Green, kind of ironic I got put into Slytherin huh?" He replies.

This is how most of the nights goes. Pointless question, random stories, and lots of laughter. At least until David starts asking more personal questions.

"So.. who do you like?" He asks you.

You're not sure how to reply to this question, you don't necessarily like anyone at the moment.

"Hmm, I guess I don't really like anyone at the moment. I'm still a little heartbroken from my last crush. How about you?" You say.

"Well there is one girl in particular I like. She's very pretty and has the most gorgeous eyes." He replies.

"Really? Who is she?" You ask.

"How about you guess?" He suggests.

"Fine." You say. "Is she in our year?" You ask.

"Yes." He replies.

"Is she in Slytherin?"

"Nope."

"Is she in Gryffindor?"

"Yes."

"Do I know her?"

"Very well."

"Is it Rose?" You ask disdainfully.

"No."

"Does she have y/h/c?"

"Yes."

Does she have y/e/c?"

"Yes."

You think about all the clues he's given you and can only come up with one answer.

"Is she... me?" You ask hesitantly.

"Yes." He replies in a soft whisper.

You wouldn't have been able to hear it normally but you just realized how close you are in distance.

You look into his eyes and can sense him leaning into you. You don't stop it because you need to get over everything that happened, and what better way than this?

However, as you're kissing him you almost feel guilty. But for what reason you have no idea.

That's when the door opened.

~Al's POV~

With only Scorpius talking to me, and not even staying for Christmas break, I was ready to go to my dorm room and pass out.

Climbing up the stairs I hear talking but assume it's from one of the other rooms. I don't bother knocking on the door since it's Christmas break and no one is probably in there.

When I open the door I am not ready for what I witness.

Y/n is kissing David Nott.

My heart shatters in a heartbeat and I step out awkwardly after mumbling, "Sorry didn't see you there."
