30: Two and a Half Years Ago

December 17. Two and a half years ago.

Chenle and I wake up in my room after staying up all night, binge watching old music videos from our childhood, and we hear yelling downstairs.

"Everyday." I sigh and get out of my bed. Chenle stands up and follows me. "The fact that this happens everyday, and they don't even try to stop it when anyone is over." We start walking down the hallway.

"I'd rather it was in front of me than anyone else though. Imagine anyone else seeing this." He looks at me.

"But you're used to this, you're here like everyday." I roll my eyes. "It just gets so annoying."

We walk out to the living room, the source of the yelling, and we just watch. It's something new everyday.

"I don't care!" Mom flies her hands in the air. "I don't need you telling me what to do!"

"But it's getting us nowhere!" Dad yells back.

"Someday I'm going to get a promotion, and you'll regret telling me to quit what I'm doing." Mom points her finger at him.

"I can't wait to see you finally 'earning money' and not losing it while driving there. Three fucking hours away! Who gets a job that you have to drive three hours to go to? Get up at 2 get home at 6 because you go shopping and eat out everyday! You just waste our money and I don't need to be paying for everything!"

"You're telling me to quit my dream job, that I'm working up for promotions and raises, and just work somewhere close so we can get money? I have a passion and a goal and you aren't even trying to support me!"

"I'm sorry, but wouldn't it be easier to find a job around here, that pays more, that you still like? Or is that not possible because it's to 'boring' or 'not eventful'? My job isn't exciting but I still enjoy it!" Dad yells louder.

I roll my eyes and go back to my room, Chenle follows, and the yelling gets quieter but louder at the same time.

I'm just going to ignore the both of them today, and let them figure it out for once.
