If you want to listen to your subs while doing somethings else I'd recommend stream, I'm not sure if its on ios tho. After you download it if you want to see the subs just go into settings and turn off music only. I'm really suprised YouTube lets them get away with this, although you can't okay it with your device off. Still really handy! :D
