Lily's POV

I took a sip of my glass of water as I was listening to the usual reports of the BC. Reports about what had happened with our people: crimes, murders, marriages, births, etc... And, unfortunately, the war against the CAT, aka my family.

"Yeah," Catherine nodded as she was looking at the reports, which the BC had handed to us to look at. "We should get more spies to check out the CAT building, especially the basements."

"The Echo group has located some of our people captured in the basements," The BC went on. "Are we clear to engage?"

Catherine sighed before looking at me. "What do you think?"

I looked at the BC, then at Catherine. "Well, those basements are heavily protected and equipped with alarm systems. If we were to get in, we certainly wouldn't be able to get out."

Catherine nodded. "Have them observe the basement and get a detailed plan of it, so we can plan our attack."

"Ok," The BC noted it down. They put away the reports as we had already gone over all of them and some simply didn't require discussing. They sat down and looked at us. "How is the young one doing?"

"Good," Catherine leaned back, it was clear she was still in disagreement with Emily regarding her decision to skip me as a potential. "She's working on her destiny."

Right when Catherine had said that, the BC looked at me. "How's that going, Your Highness?"

I raised my eyebrows. "Uhm," I sat up, suddenly realizing I had been sitting in a terrible position. "The princess has decided to move on to Number 2 because she refuses to connect with me."

The BC looked at Catherine, shocked to hear this.

"I know," Catherine breathed out. "I disagree too, but I can't decide for Emily..." She sighed. "Ultimately, it's up to Emily to figure out what's best to do for our nation."

"She can't skip Number 1. She needs to do it," The BC then looked at me. "Her Bloodborn form will be too powerful if you don't do it."

I gulped and suddenly got scared for Emily, and her future family.

Catherine seemed to notice and took my hand, holding it in hers. "It's Emily's decision, we can't change that," She then got up. "That's all for now?"

The BC nodded. "Please, we urge you to consider your connection to the young one," They said to me. "Without a certain connection, her Bloodborn will be too strong..."

I looked away while Catherine nodded at them and led us out of the BC building.

___________________________

"Hey," Marianne said as she welcomed us into our home. "How was the meeting?" She helped us get out of our jackets and hung them away.

Catherine sighed. "War is still going on," She sighed once more. "The CAT has been recruiting more people, more young people."

Marianne raised her eyebrows. "How young?"

"Teenagers," Catherine crossed her arms. "Those bastards let young teenagers fight their war, it's disgusting."

"It's what they've been taught," I said, gaining their attention. "I was taught to hate your kind too, and my parents motivated me and applauded me for joining the CAT. It's a normal thing."

"It's manipulation," Catherine then walked towards the stairs. She looked at me. "I'll be in our room." She winked at me before going upstairs.

Marianne looked at me. "What else was said?" It's funny how Marianne can read Catherine when Catherine doesn't specifically say anything.
