A/N: We might have a bit of a time jump coming up. Still working out the kinks. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter. Not gonna lie, while I thought of a title, I just used the heading DRAMA because boy, is this a doozy. Of course, there is plenty more drama to come because this is Supernatural and it has all the chick flick moments regardless of what Dean says. So yeah! I hope y'all enjoy!

The brothers slowly walked through the graveyard, headed towards Baby. Despite Dean's protests, Bobby and Ellen had gone ahead with Lillian, leaving the boys to clean up the mess. He was dying to get to the hospital to check on her, but he tried to enjoy the moment with his brother. Dean opened the door to his car, trying not to rush obviously. Before he could get in, Sam started, "You know, when Jake saw me... it was like he saw a ghost." At that Dean froze, shutting the car door. His heart dropped as he turned to see a serious expression on his little brother's face. "I mean, hell, you heard him, Dean. He said he killed me."

Dean shrugged, feigning nonchalance. "Glad he was wrong."

Sam shook his head. "I don't think he was, Dean." He paused, thinking before he turned to look at his older brother in the eyes. "What happened? After I was stabbed?"

He shifted uncomfortably. "I already told you."

"Not everything."

"Sam, we just killed the demon. Can we celebrate for a minute?" He forced a smile.

The youngest Winchester did not smile. "Did I die?"

"Oh, come on-" The older brother's voice broke. Sammy stared, unable to speak for a moment as he watched his brother. Part of him wanted to stop. To move on. Play dumb. But he knew that this wasn't something he could let slide.

With a great amount of effort, he forced out the big question, "Did you sell your soul for me like Dad did for you?"

"Oh, come on! No!"

Sam hesitated, again pushing through his reservations. "Tell me the truth." He waited, but Dean's mind was reeling. "Dean, tell me the truth."

"Sam..." he chuckled, tears in his eyes as the laugh rang hollow...

The shaggy-haired hunter nodded, knowing the answer. His voice cracked as he forced out, "How long do you get?" There was so much more that he wanted to say, but for now, those were the only words he could force out.

"One year." Sam paled, nodding with tears in his eyes. His stomach dropped as if he were falling. "I got one year."

"You shouldn't've done that," the younger hunter snapped. "How could you do that?"

"Hey, don't get mad at me. Don't you do that. I had to. I had to look out for you. That's my job!"

"And what do you think my job is?" At that Dean paused. Sam shook his head, pausing before continuing. "You've saved my life over and over. I mean, you sacrifice everything for me. Don't you think I'd do the same for you? You're my big brother. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you. And I don't care what it takes, I'm gonna get you out of this. Guess I gotta save your ass for a change."

Dean nodded slowly. "Yeah... Well if it makes you feel any better... It wasn't all on you. I mean I still would have done it. You know I would, but... " He continued to fight the tears as he struggled to get out the words. "Lil died too."

Sam's head snapped up, mouth open in shock. "Wait, what?"

The oldest brother nodded slowly, missing his brother's reaction as he lost himself in the horrific memories. "Yeah... Yeah, I found her after you, knife... still stuck in her stomach."
