A/N: Short filler chapter but I still love it because dynamics

"Sammy?" Lillian pounded on the bathroom door. "Come on Sammy, let's hit the-!" Before she could finish, the door flew open to reveal the younger Winchester looking down at her with bloodshot eyes, water dripping from his face. "What's wrong?" Her eyes narrowed in suspicion as he tried to push past her. She caught her friend by the arm, holding him back. "Sammy. Spill."

The younger Winchester hesitated, before sitting on the nearby bed, letting his head fall into his hands. "It's just a headache," he lied.

"Bull," she snapped, her tone dangerously cold. "Truth time or I get Dean."

Instantly, his head snapped up. He stared at her for a long time as if he was trying to judge whether or not she was serious. Finally, he let out the breath that he had been holding in as he threw his hands up in defeat. "I get visions. Okay? I get visions and they come true and I just had another one."

Lillian's eyes narrowed as he stared worriedly at her. Waiting for her to flip out. Instead, she just nodded slowly. "Okay. Where do we need to go?" Sam blinked, unable to comprehend what she had said.

"That's it? That's all? Okay?" She shrugged.

"What was I supposed to say something else?" She threw her hands up in the air, taking on a mocking tone as she intensified her southern accent. "Sammy! You've done lost your mind! I'm in shock!" She dropped the tone with a chuckle as she rolled her eyes. "Gimme a break. I've seen weird crap before why shouldn't it get weirder?"

Before either of them could say another word, the motel door flung open and the oldest Winchester brother entered the room. "Hey, guys what's taking so...?" He trailed off as he looked back and forth between the pair that stared up at him. "What's wrong?" he snapped at last.

The radio in the impala flickered with static as an overly cheerful announcer blared out, "Rockin' Nebraska. Your source for the classics, all night long!" Lillian sighed from her spot in the backseat, watching her two boys carefully. Sammy was about to stare a hole through the passenger's side of the windshield. Dean's head was swiveling back and forth between the road, his brother, and his best friend as millions of thoughts ran through his head. They were driving down a dark, rather boring two-lane road that gave the trio plenty of time to stew in their thoughts.

Finally, he groaned, breaking the silence. "I don't know guys. Why don't we just chill out and think about this." Sam punched the radio to shut it off, opening his mouth to speak before Lillian cut him off.

"Because there's nothing to think about, Dean," she snapped. Instantly his eyes met hers in the mirror. She shot him a pointed look and the cocky edge melted.

The oldest Winchester sighed. "I just... I just don't know if going to the roadhouse is the smartest idea."

This time Sam responded first. "This is another premonition, Dean. I know it."

Lillian shot him an affirming smile as she backed the younger Winchester up. "If this is gonna happen, Ash is gonna tell us where."

"Yeah guys, but..."

"Plus it could have something to do with the demon!" Sam reminded him, desperate to make the disapproving frown on his brother's face disappear. "My visions always do!"

Dean squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, trying to think through how to explain his point of view. "That's my point, though. There's gonna be hunters there and I don't know if... If going in there and announcing that you're some supernatural freak with a-a demonic connection is the best thing okay?" The instant his eyes met his best friend's in the mirror, he knew he'd made a mistake. Cold fury practically poured from her emerald green eyes as she glared at him. She reached up to place a comforting hand on the younger Winchester's shoulder, but he jerked away from her.

"So that's what I am now?" he growled at his brother. "A freak?"

Dean forced a smile, desperately trying to play the whole situation off as he slapped his brother's thigh. "Come on, man! You've always been a freak." He saw the way his little brother flinched at the words and realized his attempt had been unsuccessful. He sighed in defeat. He tried to make eye contact with Lillian again as if to request help, but she had curled herself up on the passenger side of the back seat and was stubbornly staring out the window. He sighed, feeling his back begin to ache as the stress overtook him. He just wanted to protect them.

Why couldn't they see that?
