A/N: Omg y'all I'm on season nine of Supernatural and it's so dang good. Also, I owe some thanks to the show coz I fell off a staircase last night and pulled what could only be described as a supernatural move lol. It's not as awesome as it felt I'm sure but regardless, it felt cool. Anyways here is another chapter in chronological order from the last ones. I'm gonna run with this plot line as much as inspiration allows, although I gotta say y'all might see some Mark of Cain stuff soon if season nine stays this amazing. Hope y'all enjoy!
For a moment, Sam and Lillian just sat there, staring at each other as they sat on the edge of the bed. Finally, the younger hunter broke the silence. "What happened?" he asked, still dazed.
"I... I don't know...." Lillian stared back at him. If Sam was confused, she was dumbfounded. Suddenly, she reached down to clutch her stomach, her head snapping down to stare. To her shock, her shirt was freshly cleaned, not a spot on it.
Before either one of them could say another word, the door flew open. A panicked Dean rushed into the room, his eyes instantly flying to the pair. "Sammy? Lil?" He paused, almost getting emotional. "Thank God." He rushed forward as they flew to their feet.
"Hey," the youngest Winchester started, barely getting the words out before both he and Lillian were pulled into a tight embrace. Both cried out, still feeling pain in their abdomen and back, respectively.
Instantly, the oldest flew back. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry guys, I'm just..." he stared, drinking in every detail of their features. A grin split his face, making the redhead's heart skip a beat. She hadn't seen that smile in so long. It almost made her forget the panic that was still steadily building in the back of her mind."I'm just happy to see you both up and around, that's all."
The younger two of the trio traded confused looks as Dean lead them to chairs. Finally, Lillian sighed. "Okay. Dean... what happened?"
He paused, thinking carefully. "Well, what do you two remember?"
Sam shrugged. "Not much here. I was coming to get you... To help Lil, coz she was a little disoriented and... I-I saw you and Bobby and... I felt this pain, like. white-hot, you know, and then you started running at me, and... that's about it." He shrugged. Both Lillian and Dean stared at him, almost as if waiting for more.
Finally, Lil shrugged. "I was waiting, and then..." she hesitated. No matter what she said, one of the boys would know she was lying no matter what came out. So she took the best available option. "I guess I kind of just blacked out or something." At that, the oldest Winchester's head jerked towards her, a million questions held in his eyes. She leaned back, tilting her head as if daring him to ask anything.
After another stretch of awkward silence, Dean nodded, hesitating before answering. "Yeah, um... Sam that... that kid stabbed you in the back. You lost a lot of blood, know..." his voice cracked. "It was pretty touch and go for a while."
Sam looked over at the girl who sat next to him. He shook his head, mouth hanging open in disbelief. She shrugged, feigning confusion. "But Dean you can't- you can't patch up a wound that bad.
"Bobby could," Liliana whispered as if suddenly struck by the realization.
Dean nodded, grateful for her help. Suddenly, he found it hard to look at her. Somewhere in her eyes, he could see it. She knew. She knew what he had done. Sammy may not have remembered dying but she sure as hell did. And she knew there was only one way out of that.
"Hey, who was that kid anyway?" he asked, clearing his throat.
"His name's Jake."
Sam leaned forward. "Did you get him?"
