  A/N Told Y'all I was pumped.

"Rise and shine princesses!" Lillian shouted over the radio she was blasting. From her position between both boys' beds, she dumped cold glasses of water over their heads. Instantly, they jumped from their beds, swearing loudly while she giggled.

"Oh come on!" Dean snapped, wiping the water from his face. "It was cute when we were teens, Lil. It's not cute now!"

"Please, honey I am always cute, but thanks for playing." She smirked, ruffling the older brother's hair before heading for the door. She turned her head back, flipping her hair dramatically. "I'm going to get breakfast and when I get back, you two better be dressed and ready to fix that beautiful baby of yours."

Dean rolled his eyes, not able to contain his smirk as the door slammed shut. "You know I'm really starting to regret that little girl coming to live here."

Now it was Sam's turn to roll his eyes as he laughed. "Please, you'd go crazy if she wasn't here. Besides, at least she played your music."

At that moment it hit Dean that the song playing was Kansas' "Carry On My Wayward Son." He smirked at the realization, staring at the door. "Kid's got good taste."

"Kid's also making breakfast so I suggest we get off our butt's and get ready quick."

"Bobby, get your kid under control!" Dean snapped jokingly as he and his brother sat down at the table. The red-headed girl feigned shock from across the table as she set the stack of pancakes down in the middle.

Bobby rolled his eyes. Without turning, he responded, "Sam quit buggin' your brother."

Lillian giggled at the look of surprise on Sam's face. Dean chuckled as he grabbed a pancake and began wolfing it down. "Your other kid," he replied, mouth full.

"Oh," Bobby feigned realization as he turned around. "You mean the Hellion? Ain't nothing I can do about her. She takes care of herself." Lillian smiled proudly, sticking her tongue out at the older Winchester.

"Do you want my help fixing your car or not?" she sighed. Dean raised his hands in surrender.

Bobby chuckled as he and Sam exchanged exasperated looks. "Someone walked in right now, they'd never know these two were thick as thieves."

"Aw Bobby they'd figure it out eventually," laughed Lillian. "We're just special."

Dean grinned. "Come on as if anyone'd think I didn't love the little... Hellion." She giggled, pulling him to his feet.

"Yeah yeah, I love you too! Now come on! That car's rusting away out there and it's a great way to deal with grief so come on!" She stuck her lip out, pulling out her best puppy dog eyes. Dean moaned, acting resistant at first before a smile broke through.

"Fine ya little brat!" He laughed at last, scooping her up. Lillian squealed, giggling with delight as he carried her outside, laughing his head off the whole time.

Sam smiled as he watched the two of them. "Well I gotta hand it to them they're unique."

As they worked on the car together, Lillian looked up over the hood to her friend. She couldn't help but smirk at the grease smudged across his cheek, somehow defining his already prominent cheekbones even more. She was convinced that his cheekbones alone drew in about fifty percent of the girls he'd been with over the years. The redhead bit back a laugh at the thought.

"So," Dean broke the silence at last, throwing down his wrench. "You gonna get on my case too?"

Lillian's brow furrowed in confusion as she passed him the part he needed. "What do you mean?" She held up a hand, stopping what he was doing as she took the piece from him, placing it the right way.

The oldest Winchester bit back a laugh at the skill she showed in correcting him. Losing that piece would have set him back several weeks. "Well, Sammy and Bobby already drilled me about 'opening up' or whatever chick-flick crap they're trying to get out of me. So, go ahead and get it over with." Lillian softened, holding back a giggle at her friend.

"Please, Dean. I know you. You need time to cope." She smiled softly. "I'm not gonna push until you're ready."

For a long moment, there was silence as the pair stared at each other. She could see just how much he was holding back from her. Just how much he was bursting to pour his grief out to her. But the stubbornness held him back. The ideals that were so deeply instilled in him were holding him back from grieving properly. Her heart ached for him. He'd always been taught that he should be strong. Strong enough to take care of his brother. Strong to watch his father's back. Strong to help care for her and train her. Lillian smiled sadly at the solemn figure of her best friend as he returned to his work. She absentmindedly stroked the battered frame of the car that had come to mean so much to her. She would be there for him when he needed her. She would always be there. Just like he was there for her. To show her something beautiful.

Lillian watched her best friend as he slammed the crowbar around her father's junkyard, hitting the cars with such ferocity that she recognized. "Hey tiger," she whispered as he slowed his swings. She stepped towards him, arms wide as he leaned down to hug her. He buried his face in her shoulders, letting the tears fall. She squeezed her eyes shut as she stood there, holding him for what felt like an eternity. "It's gonna be okay," she sighed soothingly.

"How can it be okay?" he cried. "All my life I take orders from the guy, just trying to make him proud and what do I do? I get him killed!"

She shook her head. "He was always proud of you Dean. Always." When he leaned back, already opening his mouth to protest, she held up a hand. "He had a lousy way of showing it, but he was proud of you. He died because he loved you so much. Don't you see what he did, Dean?" He stared at her, not understanding where she was going with this. "He left it to you. He trusted you to hunt that demon down without him or the colt. Don't you realize what that means?"
His stared for the longest time and Lillian's heart leaped with joy at the spark that appeared in his beautiful, ever-changing eyes. "He trusted me." She nodded, laughing with glee at the small smile that broke out on her friend's face.

"You're dad made a lot of mistakes, baby. Mostly because of his grief, some out of sheer stubbornness." Tears filled her eyes as she spoke. "But he never made the mistake of being disappointed in you."

He smiled through tears as he leaned back down, clinging to her tightly as he, at last, let the grief flow. In his mourning, he cried not only for the loss of his father but for what John could have been. For what their family could have been. From all the possibilities that the yellow-eyed demon had stolen from him. As her best friend sobbed, Lillian felt her heart grow cold. Cold with a hatred for the demon who had so shockingly shattered her best friend's life. At that moment she knew. She would do whatever it took to destroy the demonic creature that had done this. No matter the consequences.
