Dearest

Chapter 10

"Ugh.." I groan as I roll hopelessly in bed. I can't get up anymore, my head hurts like hell and my vision started to blur every time I tried to stand up.

I assumed it was the drugs. I'd been taking them thanks to Isabel, the child won't leave the mansion for school if her mommy doesn't take the pill. Stubborn brat... Why am I so weak with her? With Eren? Why am I so weak?

"Mommy?"

I gasped for air at the familiar voice. I forced myself to sit upright.

"Hey.." my voice sounded rough and tired but I manage to smile for my daughter. I hate seeing Isabel sad.

Isabel peeked on my room, eyes wide with worry. "Mommy.. are you okay?"

I rubbed my face, hoping it will hide the pain I felt on my temples. "Mommy is just tired."

Isabel just blinked at me before the child ran out of my sight. I finally let out the groan I was holding, the pain is becoming unbearable like someone is hammering I skull.

I flopped back on my bed weakly, shutting my eyes as I silently pray for the pain to go away. I barely heard the heavy footsteps entering my as well as the strong arms who lift me and starts carrying me somewhere.

I can't help but let out a whimper when a painful blow exploded on my temples, turning my vision black.

I bit my nails, a disgusting habit that's what Levi said but I can't help it as I watch my friend on the bed as Eren injected him with some sedative to spare him the pain.

"He's asleep now." Eren steps back and prepared to conduct some test. "Where's Isabel?"

"Farlan took her to school instead," I replied, recalling the frown on the child's face. We told her that her mommy will be fine but the child won't buy it.

"It could be the drugs or something else."

"What do you mean something else?" I leaned closer as I helped him set up.

Eren just sighs before turning to me. "Last three weeks, Levi got home late."

"What? Where did he go?"

"I didn't know but the scent of unknown Alpha is on his skin and..." Eren paused midway, before shaking his head. "And the smell of sex."

I gaped at him. There is just no way that Levi will allow another Alpha to touch him. I knew he loved Eren and he reserved himself for him but...

"He said, he was fine, that he 'packed up' the Alpha but I don't believe him." Eren gripped the counter.

It took everything to prevent myself from slap the Alpha in front of me. Surely Eren is not that dense. But I have another matter stop worry. "You think he's pregnant?"

"He could be."

I leaned back on the counter and eyed my sleeping friend. It was a pain to see him like this. Somehow, we are doing well except for him, I can't blame him though. Eren was his everything and only to discovered that his supposed to be Alpha is married to his cousin.

"Eren. " I started. I promised I hold myself and let Levi to man up and told Eren his feelings but damn it, Levi! Why did you become so weak?!

"I know."

"What?" I stared at him.

"Levi's world revolves around me. I know. I know he had strong feelings for me but."

"But?"

"I don't know Hange. He's..."

"Insane?! And whose fault is that?" I snapped at him.

"Don't point your finger at me! The Ackerman's made him this way before I was in the picture."

"But Eren, he's holding onto you! You're his lifeline, he fucking stole some important files for you!" I shouted in disbelief. How could Eren be so...

"I know, I already know from the start...." Eren sighs again, running a hand on his hair. "That's why... I took advantage of him but I didn't expose him, it was Armin!"

I stepped back, Eren was furious it scared me a little of how his dominant voice tries to dip into his words as well as his heavy scent that orders submission.

"I tried to help him escape the madhouse Hange! I reflected and felt guilty. I wanted to help him but he was gone." He looked back at Levi. "The nurses said he escaped with the help of another patient and a nurse." Then he looked back at me, eyes burning with rage.

"Ahhh... Oops?"

"Seriously?! Is that all you got to say?"

"Well, you're not a patient on that madhouse." I glared at him. He doesn't know what we've been through. "Though that didn't explain why it took you years to look for Levi."

Once again, Eren sighs. "I was busy, with med school and the wedding. I can't get out now that my parents knew I went to the madhouse. My parents and the Ackerman's accused me of letting Levi escape the madhouse, which is my plan but it didn't work obviously, they all didn't believe me. They kept a good eye on me. Until my parents... Died."

I blinked at him, finally understanding his side. "So what now? He knows your married. He probably felt like shit."

"That's... Ugh! You can't force me to love him!"

"You don't?" I was stupid to even ask. The Alpha was simply taking pity on Levi.

"I believe he deserves someone else. An Alpha that won't use him like I did."

I was about to open my mouth when Eren started again.

"My parents want me to love Mikasa, you want to me love Levi. While the only Omega that I've loved for five years left me without a word and eloped with his butler! Say, what do you want from me?!"

I didn't say anything after that.

I'm not even sure if I'll be happy with the results. The drug is too strong for Levi and it affected the child he was carrying. Eren switched his meds to something much safer, aiding his pregnancy and hopefully it won't make Levi suffer than he already had.

"He had to know," Eren instructed before he attended another patient.

Levi is already awake, sitting upright on his bed as he gazes blankly at the window.

I took a deep breath and skipped next to him, wearing my usual happy mask. "Hey, short stack! How are you feeling?"

"I'm... Fine."

I sigh and starts combing his hair with my fingers. He had to know at least. I forced a smile. "Guess what? Isabel is going to be a big sister!"

I sadly watch him. Not a single emotion swirls in his eyes. "Oh?" He said, not quite surprised to discover that he is carrying.

I hugged him, letting his weight rest on me as I continued to rake his hair. "You're an excellent mother. Look at Isabel, she's well mannered, responsible and kind. You did well Levi."

Levi didn't even stir in my arms, he doesn't seem conflicted or scared which worries me. We were like that for an hour, I rake his hair and rocked him in my arms until he finally said something.

"I killed the father." He said so casually.

"Who cares?!" I laughed awkwardly. "Farlan is a good father."

Levi opened his mouth but closed it. I can tell that he wanted to Eren to stand as the father.

"Don't fret. You're an amazing mother." I held him tightly, hoping that his mind is not eating him, hoping that he'll look into another perspective and try to live again, hoping that he'll forget about Eren... And I hope... that everything will be okay.
