[third pov]

"Lonnie? It's one in the morning and I'm tired. What the hell are you doing here?" A sleepy Corazon asks, barely opening her eyes. In front of her stood an excited Lonnie in her PJs.

"Oh sorry." She excused herself. "I was looking for Mal because all the other girls want her to do their hair as well. She wasn't in her dorm so I thought maybe she'd be here." Lonnie babbled, twirling her new hair around her finger.

"No idea where she's at." Corazon shrugs, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. "But now I'm awake, I'm going to the kitchen because I'm hungry." She opened the door further and closed it behind her again. Lonnie's footsteps followed her down the hall towards the kitchen.

"I'm going with you. Maybe they're in the kitchen." Lonnie shrugs, walking at a higher pace than Corazon.

"Why in Hades' name would they be in the kitchen? Right now?" Corazon asks following Lonnie who opened the door to the kitchen.

"There you are, Mal! I was looking for you. You know all the girls want you to do their hair." Lonnie rambles.

"Okay, I'd like to take that back." Corazon says, seeing Mal and the other VK's hanging around in the kitchen. They were making dough for cookies, at one in the morning. Carlos tensed up when locking eye contact with Corazon. She slightly blushed when she remembered she was in her red-black-white nightgown. "Late night snack, hm?" She asked with a mischievous smile on her face. Mal tried to hide her spell book but it didn't go unnoticed by Corazon. Mal, Evie and Jay all sent her warning looks. She knew these four were up to no good and not just making a late night snack.

"What're you guys making?" Lonnie asked Mal excited, not noticing that the four started stressing. Mal shrugs nervously, stirring the dough to make it more believable.

"Nothing special, just coo—" Lonnie couldn't wait to hear the complete answer and dipped her finger in the cookie dough. The four VK's yelled for her not to do it. Corazon was rather amused by watching the scene unfold. She crossed her arms and leaned against the wall, grinning at the shocked VK's and confused Lonnie.

"What? I'm not going to double dip." Lonnie grinned a little confused at the sudden outburst of the students.

"Feel—anything?" Evie carefully asked Lonnie, eyeing her suspiciously.

"Yeah, like maybe it might be missing something?" Mal added with the same curious expression as the other three. Jay jumped from off the kitchen counter and leaned seductively forward.

"Hey there." He said while smirking. Lonnie raised an eyebrow in confusion at him before walking to the fridge. By now it was clear to Corazon what the four were up to and she couldn't help but silently laugh at them. Carlos noticed her chuckling and looked at her. Corazon winked at him before looking at Lonnie who grabbed something from the fridge.

"It could use some chips." She shrugged with a white bowl in her hands.

"Chips?" Jay asked with a raised eyebrow.

"And those are?" Corazon asked, walking to the table with the cookie dough.

"Chocolate chips. Just the most important food group." Lonnie explained to the VK's. She grabbed a handful and added it to the dough. "Wait, didn't your moms ever make you guys like, chocolate chip cookies?" Corazon scoffed at the mention of her mother and rolled her eyes. The others didn't seem to notice besides Carlos. He looked at her and his eyes softened when seeing she didn't want to be part of the conversation anymore. "Like, when you're feeling sad and they are fresh out of the oven with a big ol' glass of milk and she makes you laugh and..." Corazon zoned out and her mind went to her home. Her home where her parents, actually only her mother, would yell and occasionally curse at her. A shiver went down her spine when she remembered a big fight, just a few weeks before she went to Auradon.

"Why are you all looking at me like that?" Corazon snapped out of her thoughts and saw the others with similar heartbroken faces.

"It's just different where we are from." Corazon coldly stated, answering for the other VK's.

"Yeah I know. I just thought—I thought even villains love their kids." Lonnie answered, feeling sorry for what she said. "Oh how, awful." Tears filling Lonnie's eyes. Slowly one tear fell on her cheek. Mal and the other VK's snapped out of the sad moment and she wiped the tear of Lonnie's cheek and dropped it in the dough. Lonnie looked at her confused but thought nothing more of it. Corazon knew better, that tear of sadness was needed for a love spell they discussed earlier that day.

"Yeah, well big bummer but we have to get these in the oven. Thank you so much for coming by. Have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow. Evil dreams!" Mal said, pushing Lonnie and Corazon out of the kitchen.

"Wait." Corazon said, getting away from Mal's push. "I came here because I was hungry, Lonnie you can go. I can find my way back." Lonnie nodded and waved the VK's good night. Evie, Mal and Jay were still a little on edge but Carlos was already back in his little trance. Corazon opened the pantry and grabbed a new pack of Reese's. Ever since she tried them in the limousine to Auradon she'd been obsessed with them.

"Those are so good!" Carlos exclaimed excited, jumping of the kitchen counter.

"I know right!" She squealed, showing the chocolate. "It's salty like nuts but sweet like I don't know!"

"Sorry to interrupt this moment of fan girling over food but we really need to get these in the oven and Corazon, you look pretty tired. Go sleep." Mal interrupted, shooing Corazon away. This time she gave in and let Mal push her away.

"Night, guys." She waved them goodbye. "Carlos." She looked back one more time to look at the platinum haired boy who slightly blushed at the mention of his name. She winked at him one last time before turning around to leave the kitchen.

"Yet we met again at night, almost as if you guys are up to no good. More than I know off." She smirked before closing the door behind her.
