"Kings and Queens, it's our time to rise. Write the book story of our lives, this is us taking back the night!" Ben shyly sings, surrounded by royals out on the terrace in front of the castle. After a rather eventful day, the after party had started in Auradon. All is well, right? The VK's have become accepted after the little incident, Maleficent was captured and the barrier has been closed again. Mal and Evie were smiling widely as they were dancing to the song. This would be their new lives, as Auradon girls. It would become a little hard to completely fit in with the other students because in the end, you can take the VK outta the Isle, but you can't take the Isle out the VK.
"Break the spell, we were born this way. Be yourself, forget the DNA, everybody raise your hands and say." Mal sang, joining king Benjamin on his side. Until now, Corazon has been able to stay hidden from her dancing friends by casually walking around the courtyard. She has been kind of avoiding them as she would be pressured into dancing. Another reason is Carlos. By now she realised that she could have handled things differently with him, instead of ignoring his presence. They both said sorry but the uneasy tension between the two wasn't gone.
"Sound the alarm, get on your feet. Let's set it off and rock this beat. Dance till your heart is wild and free." Staring at her friends, she smiled with true happiness. Auradon maybe wasn't home, but they were finally welcomed with open arms. Evie was glowing and Mal couldn't keep her eyes off Ben. "Feeling the power, let it all out, like what you see in the mirror, shout. We got the keys, the kingdom's ours." Carlos had been finally able to track Corazon down. In her chic, deep red dress, looking up in awe at the choreography, she sat on a white bench near the stage. Carlos lets out a breath of nervousness before making his way to her.
"Is this seat taken?" He asks with a smile, pointing to the empty spot next to her on the bench. She has been pretty good at avoiding the boy, until now. Surprised she looks up to see the platinum haired boy with lots of freckles, waiting for an answer.
"We're at a party and you ask if the seat is taken?" Corazon chuckles with a raised eyebrow. He jokingly rolling his eyes as he sits down next to her.
"We're at a party and you don't dance?" He asks in return, now for her to roll her eyes. Set It Off continues in the background but the two don't seem to notice the music anymore.
"Touché. I'll give you that one, De Vil." She answers, playfully poking his shoulder.
"But can I have this dance as well?" In a smooth movement Carlos is back on his feet and reaching over for her hand. Her cheeks feel warmer and the smile is undeniably. To their luck, Jay comes running to them from the crowd. The both of them jump as he suddenly sits down on the other side of Corazon.
"Yo, it's time to set this thing off. Let's make it happen now." Jay sings happily. She smiles at him before moving along to the rhythm of the music.
"I'll make my own future, ignore the rumours. Show 'em my passion sound." Carlos shrugs, reaching yet again for Corazon's hand. With a smile she accepts and stands up.
"They all told me to back down. Show 'em my passion sound. Judgin' me 'cause of my background." Jay and Carlos both sing as the three of them make their way to the stage. Corazon looks down at the their interlocked hands. Her ring glowing a bright red colour. She smiles at the ring before looking back at Carlos' happy face. Suddenly he spins her around before grabbing her hand again. With a last chuckle he high fives Jay and pulls Corazon to the dance floor.
"Just follow my lead." Carlos whispers in her ear when she anxiously looks at the moving royals around them. She nods and watches the routine for the chorus one last time.
"Get ready, set it off. We got to set it off." Slowly getting the hang of it, she joins the others in the dance. With a satisfied smile, she looks over to Evie and Mal who mirror her smile. She looks back at Carlos who seems impressed of her sudden confidence in her dancing. "Get ready, set it off. We got to set it off."
"Just one last question." Carlos says, pulling her a little closer. The heat returns to her cheeks as she notices the small distance left between them. "As the princess of Hearts, do you also break a lot of hearts?"
