"Children, excuse me." Fairy Godmother said in her singsong voice. The five VK's looked up from their work for remedial goodness 101 to see FG was slightly on edge. "As you know, this Sunday is family day here at Auradon Prep and because your parents can't be here due to ah—distance, we've arranged a special treat." She explained with her never ending smile. She walked back to a screen and pressed enter. The screen turned on Maleficent appeared very close to the screen.
"I don't see anything nor do I hear." She mumbles, moving away from the screen. The other parents appear behind her and are struggling to get their screen on.
"Kids." FG smiles and motions for them to come near the screen. The five cautiously walk to the screen and take a seat on the first row of tables.
"Is it— is it on?"
"Move old witch, just press enter." A female voice, Corazon recognises, interrupts Maleficent with an attitude. Camila appears on the screen and presses with an annoyed expression a button. "See!"
"Lexi!" Camila exclaims happily when the villains on the island finally get their device to work. "I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too, Cami." Corazon answers, for the first time feeling homesick. Camila opens her mouth to say anything but is pushed away by the Evil Queen. "Hey!"
"Evie, it's mommy!" E.Q. yells waving at her blue haired daughter. "Look how beautiful. You know what they say, the poison apple doesn't fall far from the tree." Evie smiles widely back at her mother. A sting of jealousy hits Corazon because of the somewhat good relationship Evie has with her mother. There's a reason Camila is on the video chat and not her mother.
"Who's that girl?" Jay whispers to Corazon. She rolls her eyes at him, already knowing his intentions.
"Out of your league." She mumbles back. Carlos overheard and let out a soft chuckle. Jay looks defeated back at the screen, trying to get another glimpse of the mysterious girl.
"Hi, mom." Mal forces a smile at her mother when she's done teasing FG about Cinderella. All the attention is on Maleficent and her daughter.
"Mal! I m—miss—miss you." Maleficent chokes out. The acting noticeable in her voice. "How long must mommy wait to see you?" Mal subtly tells her about when they get the chance to get the wand. Maleficent asks if it's possible any time sooner but to her dismay the coronation will be the day.
"Carlos, is that a dog?" Cruella De Vill asks her son, moving really close to the screen. Corazon sees where he got his sense of style from. "Oh yes, yes baby. The perfect size for earmuffs." She mumbles to the fake dog on her shoulder. Corazon raises her eyebrows at the eccentric woman.
"He's the perfect size for a pet!" Carlos snaps at his mother. The VK's startle and look at him with wide eyes. Corazon places her hands on his shoulder in an attempt to calm him down. He eases at the touch of her hands and quickly glances back at her. "This dog loves me and I love him!"
"Does she know the dog on her shoulder is stuffed?" Corazon mumbles to no one in particular but everyone heard. Jay, Evie and Mal chuckle and Carlos tries muffle a laugh. Cruella gasps at her comment at pets the stuffed dog on her shoulder.
"Ohho, Burn!" Jafar yells at her. The parents start to fiercely argue with each other. Jay is quick to turn off the screen of their yelling parents, not bearing the sight anymore.
"Thanks for the special treat." Jay says, looking down. FG nods and feels terrible for the students. They all return to their seats to grab their books because the bell had rung mere seconds before.
"M, what do you think our parents are going to do to us? If we don't pull this off?" Evie asks with a frown as they leave the room.
"I think they'll be quietly disappointed in us but ultimately, proud of us for doing our best." Mal smiles, stopping dead in her tracks.
"Really?" Carlos asks her hopeful.
"No, I think we're definitely goners." She sighs, walking towards the dorms. Corazon followed the others slowly, absentminded. Her thoughts were at the isle where her mother was, probably yelling at anyone near her.
"Hey, are you ok?" Corazon didn't notice Carlos had slowed his pace down to walk next to her. She shrugs, following the others to the dorm of the guys. "Who is Cami to you?" He softly asks. At the mention of her best friend she smiles again.
"Camila used to be my babysitter but since we're actually quite close in age we became very great friends." She answers, twirling the ends of her dark brown hair.
"And Lexi is your nickname?" He asks. She nods at the curious platinum haired boy.
"My second name is Alexa, actually, so she's been calling me Lexi." Jay opens the door to their dorm and is followed inside by Mal and Evie, leaving the two little C's just outside.
"My second name is Oscar." He chuckles, a little embarrassed.
"Oscar?" She asks, a smug smile forming on her face. He nods with a sigh but happy he got her to smile again.
"Just my mom doing what she's doing best. Being really, really evil." He laughs along with her.
"Hey lovebirds, we're plotting for the coronation." Mal interrupts from inside. "Join us or be lovey dovey somewhere else."
