Lisa slowly tip toed out of her bed. She wanted to get out of this place and decided to look for a way out. She looked around the room to make sure no one was hiding behind the bed, under the couch or something to kill her instantly. There was no one in the room except her. She sighed in relief.
In one corner of the room, she spotted a window and saw it as her way out. As her doorway to freedom. It could get her out, she thought. But she wasn't sure what she would do if it was locked. Still, she thought that she should at least try.
She edged closer towards the window and examined it. Her hand lingered the glass for a moment or two and she knew that she had to act quick and get out of this place. She lightly pushed the window and to her surprise, it swayed open. Her eyes widened. The window wasn't locked. She beamed proudly.
She looked down the window and was relieved to see that the distance wasn't that much. Still, it was more than she would have liked. She couldn't jump down exactly. Well she could but she preferred a plan through which she could escape and go home in one piece.
Suddenly, a light bulb lit up in her mind and she grinned ear to ear. She sprinted towards the bed and took off the sheets. There was a total of 5 sheets. She tied them together and soon, held in her hands a long sheet and also the weapon to her freedom. She smiled triumphantly. She tied one side of the sheet to the bed and let the other side be pulled down by the force of gravity out the window as she threw it out.
Her heart was thumping wildly in her chest. She felt a new strength emerge in her and was filled with hope. She looked down the window and inhaled deeply. She stood near the window and slowly began to climb down the sheets, careful not to make a mistake. Her wounds were throbbing but she somehow still found the energy to climb down. The thought that in a few minutes she would be running back home freely gave her energy to continue climbing down and not give up.
And even though her back ached, her cuts stung and her body felt tired and worn out, she didn't stop. As she continued climbing down, the view of the dimly lit room began to slowly get out of her sight. It made her feel more hopeful about her situation. She imagined running out this place, as free as a bird and as happy as a clam. Away from this place of death and doom, away from the everlasting darkness that haunted this house, away from the mirthless killers who inhabited this area and away from the demon who had kidnapped her.
When she was halfway down, she was already covered in sweat, blood was spurting out of her wounds and her stamina and strength was slowly fading away. Her breath was shaky and uneven nd her hands were burning. Her vision was becoming cloudy after moments and her own body felt heavier and heavier. She yelped as her hand almost slipped but she reacted quickly and gripped the sheets tighter and more forcefully, digging her nails in the sheet.
After a few more minutes of climbing down, the sheet ended. She shook her head in defeat. She felt that she could not give up when she had gotten this far and decided to jump down. The distance wasn't too much. she could easily jump down.
She closed her eyes and imagined herself in her room surrounded by her loved ones. It gave her strength. She shut her eyes tightly and let go of the sheets. Once her feet hit the ground, her eyes shot open. She couldn't believe it. She was free.
She was finally free. She could go home and get away from this place.
