Little is known of Alexei Trupp. I'm still researching the family, so I'll make sure to add details as I discover more and more over time. This book is a project, an idea that is still growing and developing into something more. As I learn a little more, I'll add a bit more. A new chapter. A new sentence. A new word, or photo.
But Alexei Trupp is a mystery. It is likely that, as he was a footman people rarely asked him for these details. Maybe he never felt the need to divulge. Overall it seems that Alexei was a quiet, loyal, diligent man, but finding details of his nature and origins has proved quite challenging so far.
*Hello to all readers! This chapter was delayed simply because this particular man is so frustrating! I can't find anything deeper, anything more, about him. No family details, no hopes, no desires, no last words...nothing comes out. He was a Roman Catholic, rather than Russian Orthodox. He was the Head Footman of the Romanovs. But Christ knows what else.
This is my project, the thing that sits in the back of my mind every day. So my inability to find more information about him has been infuriating beyond words.
If anyone has any recommendations on books about the Romanov's servants, I would love to read it. If anyone is in the South East of England and wants a natter in a cafe over the mystery of the Romanovs, message me and your tea/coffee/wine is on me. I could so do with someone to talk out these ideas to - my family is supportive, but the blank stares and patient nodding of the head is just telling me "Please stop talking about dead Russians. Please."
Thanks to everyone who has been reading, all constructive criticism is welcome. If anyone wants to do a Read For Read, just PM me.
