The Internship

Izuku walked through the hallway to the large, imposing door at the end. It seemed like everyone was staring at him as he passed by, whispering about the doom he was sure to experience.

After all, society of superheroes or not, getting sent to the Principal's office meant trouble.

Certain death.

Good thing Izuku was used to it.

"Excuse me," Izuku said as he knocked before opening the tall door, and stepped into the office, closing the door behind him. Nezu was, as always, sitting in his chair, before swiveling around to meet Izuku's gaze.

"Hello there, Midoriya. Come, sit down." Nezu gestured to the empty seat opposite of him, and Izuku obliged.

"Would you like some tea?" Nezu asked, and without waiting for an answer, poured Izuku a cup of tea. After all, when The Principal asks you if you want tea, you never say no.

Izuku took the warm cup in his hands, and sipped it a little before placing it in front of him. "What is it you wanted to see me for, Sir?"

Nezu smiled. "I would like to give you a request to join me in an internship. Of course, Aizawa wanted to extend his invitation for an internship to you as well, and seeing as we are both your teachers, we decided to intern you separately."

Izuku raised an eyebrow.

Nezu shook his hands. "I mean, we will split the time we have with you. I will get you for the first half of the internship, and Aizawa will get you for the last half. So what do you say, Midoriya-kun?" Nezu asked, leaning forward, across his desk.

"I appreciate your generous offer, Sensei. I accept your terms."

Nezu grinned. "I'm glad to have my star pupil onboard!"

There was a knock on the door, and Nezu spoke, "Enter." Aizawa came in, quickly closing the door behind him.

"Did Izu-Midoriya agree?" Aizawa asked.

"Aizawa-kun, I know you and Midoriya are on a first name basis. No need for the formalities in front of me. And yes, Izuku has agreed to the shared internship."

Aizawa scratched the back of his neck. "Good. Uh, I guess I'll go now. Excuse me," Aizawa mumbled, quickly exiting the office, and Nezu chuckled. "Aizawa is proud to show off his 'son' at the Sports Festival, but when he's up and close with you and I, he can be amusingly shy."

Izuku grinned lightly. "I don't mind fath-Aizawa's antics."

Nezu laughed more. "You are just like him in that aspect now! Like father like son, I guess."

Izuku looked away to the ground, blushing a little in embarrassment. "E-excuse me." He said, leaving the office.

Nezu sighed. "Now, come out you two. I know you're there."

There was a click, and then Present Mic and Midnight came tumbling out of the air vent with photography equipment and recording and listening equipment. The two, who were now tangled up on Nezu's desk, quickly jumped off and bowed their heads, embarrassed.

Mic started, "Y-you see, Sir, we were just-" Nezu cut him off. "I wholly support your efforts to capture Dadzawa on camera." Nezu gave them a thumbs up. "Tell me whenever you need my help. I'm sure you have almost enough to start your project, yes?"

Midnight nodded. "Intuitive as ever, Nezu. Thank you for the support - you are an unlikely supporter of our project."

Nezu smiled widely. "Of course, I have a lot to gain from it, aside from being a fervent Dadzawa supporter. Keep up your good work, you two."

They nodded, and excused themselves.

'It's good to have a co-conspirator in this. Dadzawa is rare to track down...' they both thought.

"Midoriya." Nezu called, and Izuku turned his head. "Sensei." He bowed.

"Midoriya, the other students are leaving for their internships now. Come with me - since you're under my care and living with me, you'll be staying at UA." Nezu stated, and Izuku gave him a questioning look.

"I do live at UA, after all. Come on, now, I'll show you to where you'll be staying." Nezu walked off, Izuku trailing behind him.

Of course, Izuku was beating himself up about not anticipating Nezu's living situation. After all, the cat-bear-mouse-thing was incredibly rich from his hero work and running the top hero school in Japan!

After many elevator rides, Izuku and Nezu reached their destination - the very top floor of UA, also known as Nezu's private living suite. Nezu pushed open the large doors to reveal a lavish living setting.

Imagine the most amazing, most fabulous and rich, luxurious home. Nezu's crib was that, ten times over. Everything was pristine clean, and Nezu walked in like he owned the place (which he did).

"Here." Nezu showed Izuku to one of the many doors, and opened it to reveal a bedroom. "This is where you'll be staying. I hope this can accommodate you enough."

Izuku's jaw nearly dropped to the floor.

If his guest room was this astonishingly luxurious, then Izuku would kill to see what Nezu's bedroom looked like.

"Anyway, for today we'll just be going over what I plan to do with you throughout the internship time. Of course you'll attend some UA classes, but I'll also bring you along for my hero work. We'll be doing much more than just our usual lessons." Nezu said to Izuku, who was barely nodding, still trying to process everything.

"In addition, you have about an hour to settle in before dinner will be served. I hope you enjoy rich food!" Before Izuku could protest or say anything, Nezu quickly darted away, probably to prepare the food, leaving Izuku standing alone in an incredible room.

Only one of Izuku's brain cells was still intact at this point.

And with this brain cell, Izuku was able to think of one thing.

What the hell did he get himself into.
