(A/N:current ages are 5. Naruto is 6.)

The young Anbu rose the ice needle to her wound, applying pressure. It was quite a small gash down her wrist, a few dry drops of crimson staining the block of pure ice. She was wearing her mask, with her Anbu wear still on her body from her previous mission. She heard an echo of high, threatening voices nearby. Shouts of anger, hatred. Something she came well accustomed to over the years. Yet, she knew, they were not for her. She jumped on top of the building, and ran around to get a greater look of the disruption. A boy, her age, (also clearly being a few inches taller than her) was being cornered by a bunch of villagers. He was crying, hiding his face in his hands as he allowed them to drip down his cheeks. "W-What did i do...?"
It broke her heart. They threw abuse at the child, stepping closer but far away enough to show they were being extremely cautious. They had thrown things at him, and he was now covered in cuts.

Yukiya jumped down, landing right beside the child. The impact of her fall created a crater; they stepped back in fear. She was nicknamed "Oni" for her monster strength and the fact she concealed her face. There were rumours, of course, that sprouted lies tainted with deception. One of the most common lies-rumours-was due to how hideous she truly was she was forced to wear a mask or else she would taint everyone else.
"It's her... The Oni..."
" The Oni is of course defending her own kind... a monster."
"Obvious....she is evil after all."

"Be quiet, " she started, her voice laced with hatred and something dark beneath it. "What gives you the right to treat a child this way?! He has done nothing wrong. You should be ashamed of your actions." She picked up the blond haired child, and disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

Yukiya started to clean his cuts, dabbing carefully and stopping when he hissed in pain. She was now dressed in her casual wear, mask on top of her covers. Naruto didn't seem disgusted by her appearance, which she was quite surprised about. He only seemed to stare in curiousity. She placed bandages on her cuts once she was done cleaning his cuts.
"My friend is better at this type of thing. She does specialise on medical jutsu after all. She might appear soon enough, I have a terrible gash."
"...why...did you help me...?"
"No one should treat another human being like that. You have emotions, you feel. And...I suppose i see myself in you. I have been called a monster most of my life for my strength."
"You...aren't gonna insult me...?"
"Nope, " she popped the 'p'. She stuffed her hands in her hoodie pockets, flashing him a small smile. "I wanna be friends. My name is Yukiya Yuki. Call me Yuki."
He seemed to beam at that, eyes widening with a sparkle in his eye. For once in his life he felt happiness (well, except for ramen of course.) "The name's Naruto Uzumaki, believe it!"

"Yo, heard ya wanted to see me?" Akira threw herself through the window with her legs now sprawled rather awkwardly around the window sill. She gave a wave, with a lopsided grin on her face.
"Yes, I need you to heal my gash I earned on the mission if that isn't too much... And to introduce you to our new friend, Naruto."
"Ya normally take a while to allow people to see ya face."
"The mask is too damn uncomfortable." Akira finally managed to get up, sitting in between Naruto and Yukiya. She placed her hand on Yukiya's wrist; her hand was encased in a bright, green glow. In just a couple of moments, her gash was reduced to a small scar.

Naruto watched in fascination. "That's so cool!"
"Thanks, dude. Name's Akira Fukui. Nice to meetcha." If it was even humanly possible, Naruto smiled even more.
"We are all gonna be best friends, believe it!" They all fist bumped, smiling.

This was the start of their beautiful friendship.

(A/N: Fun fact: 'Oni' is a yokai from Japanese folklore, described as being an ogre-like creature. They are well known for their extreme strength. )
