"(Y/N), wait up! Stop walking so damn fast!" Mina's voice whined, barely audible as it struggled to keep up with the brisk pace set by (Y/N). The "Bakusquad" trailed closely behind her, their steps quickening to match Mina's urgency. The city lights illuminated the streets, casting a colorful glow upon their excited faces. "C'mon, walk faster! I want to hit the gas station and load up on snacks for our sleepover tonight!" Mina exclaimed, her eyes gleaming with anticipation.
Kirishima scratched the back of his neck nervously, his voice laced with concern. "Uh, (Y/N)... did you tell your parents we were all coming over?"
Her (e/c) eyes lit up at his question. "I'm so glad you asked! They're out of town until the end of next month on some business trip," (Y/N) replied, a mischievous smirk gracing her lips. "So we have the whole place to ourselves!"
Kaminari nudged (Y/N)'s shoulder playfully. "Must be nice to catch a break from your folks. Now you can indulge in some late-night mischief with Sero and me without having to sneak out."
"You bet I will! Just let me know the next time you guys plan a midnight skatepark adventure. I want a front-row seat when you bust your ass trying to do a kickflip," (Y/N) teased, causing everyone except Kaminari to erupt in laughter. "Haha, very funny. But let's not forget the time you got a concussion attempting to skate down concrete stairs," Kaminari retorted, a smirk gracing his face, triggering another round of loud laughter. She scoffed dramatically and pushed Kaminari, "That was one time!"
Suddenly, (Y/N) furrowed her brows and stopped laughing, a sense of unease washing over her. "Wait a second, it's too peaceful right now. Where the hell is Bakugou?"
The five friends halted their steps, turning to find Bakugou trailing far behind, his pace noticeably slow. (Y/N) rolled her eyes, her voice filled with playful exasperation. "Ugh, such a drama queen. You guys go ahead, we'll catch up in a bit." The rest of the group nodded, resuming their journey to the gas station, while (Y/N) approached Bakugou with concern etched across her features. She gently placed a hand on his arm, her voice filled with genuine care. "You're quieter than usual. What's wrong?" Bakugou didn't even look at the young girl as he grumbled under his breath, his words barely audible. "Nothing. Everything's just peachy..." his hands shoved deep into the pockets of his hoodie.
"Huh? Did you say something? You're going to have to speak louder than that, Bakugou. You know my hearing is as sharp as my Mandarin," (Y/N) replied, a glint of playfulness in her eyes. Bakugou raised an eyebrow, annoyance flickering across his face. "You don't speak Mandarin."
"Exactly," (Y/N) retorted, a smirk tugging at her lips. Bakugou, annoyed by (Y/N)'s playful banter, rolled his eyes and shoved his hands into the front pocket of his hoodie. "I'm fine, just leave me alone."
"If you say so. But remember, if something's bothering you, don't hesitate to talk to me. That's what friends are for," (Y/N) said, her words genuine and sincere. Her reply caused a faint pink hue to tinge Bakugou's cheeks. "Tch... whatever. Let's get going. Who knows what kind of trouble those assholes will get into without my supervision." Bakugou quickened his pace, and (Y/N) walked by his side. But every now and then, Bakugou glanced hastily behind him, a sense of unease evident in his actions.
(Y/N) noticed his unusual behavior. She looked over her shoulder to try and see what had Bakugou feeling so uneasy. Her voice filled with genuine concern. "Katsuki, are you sure you're alright? You seem paranoid..."
He stopped in his tracks, squinting at the pavement behind him. As much as he wanted to dismiss his feelings as mere paranoia, deep down, he knew something was off. There was a presence following them, lurking in the shadows. If he were alone, he would have confronted the mysterious entity without hesitation. But (Y/N) was with him, and he couldn't risk her safety.
"I'm fine. I just don't like walking around this part of town late at night. It gives me the creeps. Stay close to me, alright?" Bakugou turned to face (Y/N), his cheeks turning a slight shade of pink after realizing the sentimentality of his words. (Y/N) simply giggled and intertwined their hands, providing a sense of comfort and reassurance. She looked up at him, flashing him one of her signature toothy grins. "You worry too much. Even if something does happen, I'm sure you'll kick their ass without breaking a sweat! That'll show them not to mess with Japan's future number one hero!" (Y/N) playfully pulled her hand away and karate chopped the air in front of them. Bakugou couldn't help but smirk at her antics. "You've been hanging out with Four Eyes too much. I guess it's to be expected, with you being the Vice President and all."
Their friendly banter was interrupted by Bakugou's ringing phone. He muttered under his breath, pulling it out of his pocket. "What the fuck do you want?"
"Bro, why the fuck are y'all walking so slow? Hurry up! I want to get back to (Y/N)'s place so we can get stoned and play Mario Kart!" Sero's voice rang through the speaker. Denki and Mina's bickering could be heard faintly in the background. Bakugou grumbled, his irritation palpable. "Fuck you! We'll walk at our own pace. Besides, you'd have to wait for us since you lost your emergency key privileges." Sero burst into a fit of laughter. "Damn, I forgot about that. We'll meet you at the gas station. And (Y/N), if you're listening, I'm sorry-"
Bakugou hung up without waiting for an apology, shoving his phone back into his pocket. Meanwhile, (Y/N) chuckled to herself, the camaraderie between the friends evident in their playful interactions. The night was to be filled with excitement, banter, and a sense of adventure as they continued their journey, unaware of the looming danger that awaited them.
Or so they thought.
