The light danced.
A lamp was placed on a table, it flickered in bright red-orange as the time of night downed the place.
And the air is warm.
But it's warmth isn't the welcoming type.
It is one that burns.
The lamp flicked again, it consumed the gas on the container. It's not showing any sign of dying out.
The library is silent with a single person sitting peacefully while reading the book at hand.
Ray couldn't help but smile as he reads a sentence that imposed dark humor.
"The End~" Ray muttered dramatically, adding a soft-teledrama gesture with his hands upon closing the book and putting it down the table.
Ray stretched his slender arms upwards. He yawned and let out a heavy breath.
The door creaked silently and opened, revealing a limping white boy.
Norman smiled as Ray focused on his direction. He laughed when Ray continued to stare at him.
"Still reading a book Ray?" the albino teased, Walking up to Ray.
"I'm not holding a book, am i?" Ray replied sarcastically and rolled his black orbs.
"Having fun then?"
"No."
The atmosphere around them is light and comforting, the air is still warm but something else is lingering.
How the unseen could be so disturbing.
"It's time, huh."
"Yeah."
Ray leaned back to his chair and smiled up to the ceiling. For some reason, he feels somewhat panicky but with Norman around, he felt relieved.
After a moment of comfortable silence, Norman spoke in ever so gentle and happier voice.
"It's your birthday tomorrow, isn't it?"
Ray hummed then closed his eyes. The back of his head pressing on the hard edge of the chair.
Ray reminisced the unpleasant events that happened two months ago.
After the day that emma was shipped, every means of living has almost zeroed. Ray's life frozed yet time kept going.
It wouldn't wait for a poor empty soul, would it?
"What are you doing this late then?" Norman murmured, facing ray with rather sleepy eyes.
"Just saying my last goodbye to this house for my last day." Ray replied, eyes still transfixed upwards.
"I see..."
"Today's my last day here.Tomorrow i'll get shipped out..."
Norman turned to the door way. Ray stood up and pushing the chair to the table. Norman turned his shoulders lightly, face glancing to Ray.
"Hey, Norman..."
Norman's eyes seemed glint along with the lamp's light. The lingering feeling before was finally presented to light.
"Did you seriously give up?"
Ray's words didn't come off much of a question, more of an understatement to an act thats gonna happen in the near future.
