His palms felt stingy.

The burning sensation can still be felt through his hands.

The pain on his left ear is buzzing.

His breath is deep and heavy while he lets out sudden gasps, simultaneously.

His legs felt like jelly, ready to give in to exhaustion.

But he kept running.

They kept running.

The other children running in front of him. Backpacks on their back, filled with all the necessary stuffs, all on enough amounts for atleast a month, fairly distributed and placed on each bag, tucked safely to avoid both rain, too much heat and wind itself.

Norman is happy.

His siblings finally free, with smiles so bright it could blind, well that's beside the fact that the kids had dark bags underneath their eyes due to sleep-deprivation for a few days ago and today too.

It was hours ago since thay made the escape.

The smell of burnth could be smelled from their clothes.

Ray had his black orbs, shining and glinting.

He didn't expect himself to be living the day after his birthday but here he is, running together with his siblings and Norman on his side.

He felt so happy.

Ray swears on his heart, he will do everything to protect them, and maybe avoid sacrificing himself since that triggers the innocent hearts of his siblings.

The children weren't exactly that far from gracefeild but they had already covered quite a distance.

Emma said to run until they're legs give out.

And the children are planning to do those exact words.

After another couple of hours, the children reached the peak of their stamina.

No matter how much they build their stamina, they are just kids. What could they do against exhaustion?

By now, the family is sure that they are far from Gracefield, they may not be secured because they will surely be tracked down but they will do what they can to preserve their freedom.

The children are panting.

They've run through atleast 25 kilometers, it was a tough task and needs high endurance but nothing could pull them back down.

Once trapped like little birds on a cage, now free like a lion roaring their way.

"Let's stop here..." Norman panted. Lani, thoma and the other kids were already falling back and on their stamina's ends.

The family settled themselves near a tree.

Scanning the surroundings, norman noticed that the environment has changed. The trees were taller, the grass was thicker and the whole place feels cold.

Something warm hit their skins.

The sun slowly rose up from the horizon, peeking the sky in a bright-early morning light. The children walked over an edge and stared at the beautiful sunrise before them, warmed air brushing against their cheeks.

If it wasn't for emma and their freedom, Ray wouldn't be able to live another day, let alone witness the success of his siblings and be with them in this very moment.

Ray is fortunate.

Fortunate to be breathing in this very moment of his whole cursed life.
