College Love Affair

Chapter 1 - I Have a Boyfriend

--Megan--

I was walking to Starbucks to meet up with Ian Williams, my boyfriend, for a study date. We had an upcoming marketing exam in a few weeks and I needed to ace it to keep up my 4.0 GPA and keep my baseball scholarship.

As I approached the building, I slowed down and opened the door, embracing the warmth of the inside as I left the cool fall weather behind me.

"Well, well. If it isn't Megan Richards, my favourite girlfriend in the world."

"Shut up Ian, I'm your ONLY girlfriend in the world." I said as I couldn't help but smile.

Ian was always trying to make stupid comments and get me smiling and laughing. It was one of the things I loved about him.

"Hey, you shouldn't be mean to someone who's been waiting for over an hour." He said.

I looked at the time on my phone and realized I was an hour late. How did that happen? I immediately felt horrible for making him wait so long.

"I am so sorry I must have lost track of time." I said with an apologetic look on my face.

"Nah it's fine, don't worry about it. I know you didn't do it on purpose."

As I smiled, I bent down to reach his face, leaned in and gave him a small, but lingering kiss on the lips. I could tell he wanted to keep going but I pushed back and as I sat down I told him, "We can do that later. Right now, we need to study."

"But the exam's not for 2 weeks!" He complained.

"Which is why we're going over everything now, that way when we cram the days before, we already have a basic idea of everything." I assured him.

I could tell he really didn't wanna study so I decided to cut him some slack.

"You know what? We don't have to start studying today. Let's just hang out here and not focus on school."

He looked at me with the biggest smile that just made me melt. I knew we had to study but in a way, this felt more right than that. I got up from my seat to order myself a drink since Ian already had one waiting for me. I asked if he wanted another but he said no; I was gonna at least get him water though.

I got to the front of the line and was face to face with a tall, tan, blue eyed guy. He had dirty blonde hair and he had quiffed up the front so that it stood out from the rest of his physical features. I looked at him in confusion, my brows furrowed and he just stared at me impatiently.

I had never seen him in my life before? What happened to Melissa? She always worked this shift at Starbucks...I thought.

"So....are you here to order something or are you just here to stare at me and ask me out?

I laughed so loud that everyone had gone silent staring at me, including Ian. My cheeks reddened in embarrassment.

"Haha, you're quite funny. No I'm not here to ask you out I have a boyfriend. He happens to be the tan, brunette at the table over there" I said as I turned and pointed to Ian. He noticed me pointing and I could see his hazel eyes glimmering as he awkwardly waved and smiled.

"Too bad, 'cause you're a gorgeous woman."

I blushed.

"Well anyways, can I get a grande pumpkin spice latte and a bottle of water?"

"That'll be $6.50. Anything else?" He said with a grin on his face.

I shook my head at him with a look of disgust indicating that I wanted nothing from him as I handed him the money. I gave him exact change and began to walk away when he stopped me with his arm. I turned around to face him again.

"What?" I said annoyed.

"Look, I didn't mean to come off that way. I'm sorry. Is there anyway we can pretend this never happened and become friends?" He asked.

I wasn't sure whether to forgive him or not considering the things he said but me being the bigger person, I decided to forgive him and turn the other cheek.

"Sure, why not?" I said with a warming smile on my face.

"I'm Tyler, Tyler Mead." He said as he reached his hand out for me to shake it.

I shook it and said, "Megan, Megan Richards."

I waved goodbye as I walked back to my table, with drinks in my hand, where Ian was waiting.

"What was that about? Do I need to teach someone a lesson? 'Cause i didn't like the way he was looking at you."

"No, don't worry about him. I set him straight already. He knows that I'm all yours." I said, smiling, as I leaned in for a kiss. This time, I let the kiss grow longer as he held my head in his hands. I opened my mouth to let his tongue inside and I began messing his hair with my hands. We pulled apart and I grabbed his hand and lead him to the girls bathroom.
