Chapter 9 - Closed Window

I had decided to walk Megan back to her dorm after her practice, since I had nothing better to do. As we were walking, I could feel our hands brushing each other back and forth and everytime it happened, heat rushed through my entire body. 

Ok, I'll admit, I like Megan, but she has a boyfriend and Ian and I are finally on good terms after everything that's happened. Everything about her made me like her even more. 

a) She was smoking hot; The way her long, blonde hair waved around her tan, fit body. The way her deep brown eyes always managed to get you falling for her everytime you looked into them. The way her smile would make you melt.

b)She was an amazing person; She was smart, kind, outgoing, funny, caring, considerate, trustworthy, and so much more.

Ever since that day in Starbucks, I wanted her to be mine, but then I found out about Ian. I didn't know what it is, but that just made me want her more. Everyday that I got to spend time with her and get to know her better, I wanted her. Then, when we kissed at the party, I felt sparks. I knew we had chemistry and I knew she knew it too.

She was always on my mind, I couldn't help it. I thought she deserved to know about my feelings towards her, but I didn't know when to tell her. Once we finally reached her dorm, she thanked me for keeping her company and I told her I was happy to do so. We stood in front of each other in silence for a bit, before we slowly leaned in for a hug. She was so short compared to me, it was so cute. We held each other in our arms for quite a long time; I could feel her head resting against my chest for a bit. Did she have feelings for me too? I thought.

Just when things were going well, Megan quickly pulled away awkwardly and then rushed into her room, slamming the door in my face.

I guess not...

I decided to surprise Megan at her baseball game. At the end of the game, whether they won or lost, I was planning on going to see her in the dugout to either congratulate her or comfort her. I decided that would be the perfect moment to tell her how I felt. Whether she felt the same or not, she deserved to know.

It was the bottom of the ninth and Megan was up at bat. The team had two baserunners -- one at first and one at second -- with two outs. Megan already had two strikes on her, but I knew this next pitch would be her pitch.

When she swung the bat with all her might and the ball went flying, I didn't need to wait for the ball to fly over the fence to know it was a home run. She was an amazing athlete, there was no question about it. Once she ran back to home plate, the entire team came running out at her in excitement. Not surprised, I mean she just won semi-finals for the team. I waited until everyone had disappeared from the stadium to go and talk to her. When I saw my opportunity, I ran at it.

I ran up to her, hugging her from behind.

"Congratulations Slugger!" I shouted in excitement

As I picked her up, I swung her around in my arms. I finally put her down and had her facing me, her brown eyes staring at me in affection. I could feel the chemistry again.

"Hey! I didn't know you came to the game!" She said in surprise

"Of course I did! How could I not support my friend?" I said

Friend....didn't sound right.

Alright Tyler. Now's the time to tell her you like her and you want to be with her. It's now or never I told myself

Just as I was about to open my mouth, I saw Ian standing there with all this stuff and her eyes averted from me to him when she noticed I wasn't looking at her. She immediately smiled and ran towards him. He lifted her up and when they kissed, my heart was breaking. Why can't that be me? I asked myself. They started talking and I knew that my window had closed on me, landing right on my fingers. As they started walking away, hand in hand, Megan turned around to look at me. She had this apologetic expression on her face and I just couldn't take it, it hurt too much, so I left.

So for this chapter, I wanted to recap the previous chapter but in tyler's presepctive so that you can understand how he feels while everything is happening and that you can understand the whole story better. I'll try not to make too many of these chapters but I thought that this chapter was more informative and yaa
