Chapter 14 - The New Friend

(((( Jazz's POV ))))

So it has been about 2 weeks since I have been here and Benny has not come to see me at all

And I am quite happy about that I have calmed down with him but I am still a bit scared

"Checkmate" said Principle Hicks

We were playing Chess

He likes to check up on me and make sure I am not behind in my work as well as play chess

He is like a dad to me

"Checkmate" I said making him blush in embarrassment

He had lost the game

"We'll you are very smart Jazz I can tell you that"

"Why thank you Principle Hicks" I said smiling

"Well I should be getting back to the school..... Remember that maths and English is due tomorrow and the science is due in two days time"

"Yes Principle Hicks I will have them done sooner than that if you want"

"Oh Jazz you are a lovely student"

"What can I say it is in my DNA"

He laughed walking out the door waving goodbye

"Mrs Byrne.... Would you like to go down to the hospital Café" said the nurse

"Sure... But won't I collapse like last time"

"No that was because you tripped over a leg of a table"

"Oh... Okay then" I said getting out of the bed and going to get changed

"Umm Mrs" I said half way through getting changed

"Yes Jazz" she questioned

"I think I have my head in the sleeve" I laughed

She walked in laughing and helped me re-arrange my shirt

So I was getting my food and I looked over to see a girl about 14 years old sitting at a table by herself

So I decided to sit with her

"Hi" I said

"Oh hello" she said smiling immediately

"Are you okay?" I asked sitting down

"Yeah.... I am just thinking about something" she said staring at her burger

"May I be able to ask what it is you are thinking about?"

"Oh.... Yeah... My grandfather got into a massive fight with another old man at Mac Donald's over a burger.... It is actually really funny" she laughed at the end

"Oh yeah I have herd of that situation doesn't he have a pickle in his ear" I laughed

"Yeah" she giggled "So why are you here?"

"Do you know the story of where a girl got slapped by her 'boyfriend' and she slammed metres away from him into a wall"

"Yeah and didn't she have a few broken ribs and a broken arm"

"Yep... That's my story" I said showing her my right arm

"Aww that is sad" she said with a sad face "Oh sorry I am Lily" she smiled and holding out her hand

"Hi Lily, I am Jazz" I said happily shaking her hand

"Do you live here?" I asked her

"Yeah My Little sister and I just moved in with my grandpa about a week ago..... both of my parents disappeared the police claimed them dead "

"Aww.... It is okay I kinda know how you feel"

"Oh really" she said with a sarcastic tone in her voice

"Yeah actually..... whole family Died in a car crash a year and a half ago..... I got sent to an orphanage because they could not contact my other relatives since I had never met some of them and we couldn't tracked the ones I know of ........ They couldn't find some of the bodies so we didn't have a full funeral" I said looking down

"Aww I am so sorry I di..."

"No it is okay..... I am here to talk about you" I said with a cheery smile

"Well I am 15 and I am going to start school at White Chapel High"

"Hey I go there"

"Really?"

"Yeah I am a year 8 extension student... I was only there a day.... Actually one one Lesson and then I got put in here a few days later"

"Wow.... So let's talk more positive.... As I told you I am 15, My fav colours are Blue and Purple, I am not a good person to mess with I am a Hy" She hesitated "Hy- umorous (humorous) person " she said with a little nerve in her voice

"Well I am 12 turning 13 in less than a month my fav colour is Red and Aqua, People say am like a Little lamb because I am soft, sweet, weak at most times, I fall in love too quickly and I am the magical chosen one..." Crab cakes play cool " when it comes to singing, I very much Dislike Tomato sauce"

I think that was good enough

"You can sing"

"Yeah apparently like an angel but I don't think so" I said slightly shaking my head

Good she didn't recognise what I said

"Cool"

Then she got a text

"Sorry I gotta go...Here is my number and we can finish off this conversation later.... I hope you get better" she said before getting up from her chair

"I think you as a friend is just what I need" she said excitedly

"I am thinking the same thing" I smiled as she walked away

"Wow I have a new friend... And she seems awesome" I whispered to myself

So I talked to her all night and we became besties right away
